Grade your team's performance thus far

Stolen from the College Football board. I figure we're just a little bit past the halfway point so its a good time to look back and judge the first half.

Steelers: B+

The only game lost handedly was the first game against the Ravens, this team could very easily be 9-1 right now or at least 8-2 but 7-3 is probably about what I expected coming into the season. The easiest part of the schedule is coming up with only two games against teams with winning records (Bengals and 49ers) and games against some of the worst in the NFL (Browns twice, Chiefs and Rams). If this team goes worse than 11-5 I'll be very disappointed, really should at least be going 12-4 with the schedule that's ahead. Not an A because of the way they closed out the Ravens game and because the defense has only just recently gotten back into form, especially against the run. Injuries didn't help in the early part either.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: C

The Good: We beat the Falcons and the Saints, and for a few weeks, our defense looked excellent and Freeman was still finding ways to win.

The Bad: Have you seen any of our games recently?

A+

There really is no other possible grade when you're 9-0. I considered not throwing the + on there because of the defense, but I'm hopeful that the Minnesota game is just the start of them turning it around.

C-.

Too many Could've, Should've, Would've....

However, that can easily be upgraded to a B+/A- with the 2nd half of the year.

Then of course, the playoffs..

Detroit Lions: B+

The Good

-Stafford has proven the shoulder will not be a consistent problem.
-Secondary is preforming well above expectations.
-D-Line is making passing the ball a nightmare for opponents.
-Titus Young is looking great, and should only get better.
-Calvin Johnson is making amazing catches as usual.
-Maurice Morris looks improved over last year.
-Playing great in the second half.

The Bad

-Penalties penalties penalties!!!! Need fewer
-The Offensive Line has not been improved on, and is failing to give Stafford adequate time against pass rushing defenses
-Team needs to shake this "bad boy" additude and get rid of it
-D-Line is not shutting down the run game
-Running back corps is weak, mostly due to injury.
-Offense starts off slow.

Bears - B+ They've lost to the Saints and Lions on the road and the Packers at home. Nothing embarrassing there.

Cutler has dialed back on the Jay MomentsTM, and Forte is putting up Faulk-type stats (don't laugh, he really is).

The defense is downright fun to watch operate again with a fully healthy Urlacher and Peppers running around. Tillman might be the most underrated corner in the league.

Special teams are just ridiculous. Gould just doesn't miss despite playing in windy conditions a lot, Podlesh has shown to be an effective punter (don't even miss Maynard), and there's that one guy.

All in all, they are in position to make the playoffs. Can't be mad about that. Could always go South quickly, but that's not the point of this thread, now is it?

I'd almost be willing to give Chicago an A based on their turnaround the last few weeks.
