I'm reading that he can. But it probably won't work.

Players always have the right to appeal. Who knows when the appeal hearing would take place. If he appeals it, he'll probably be available for the Saints this weekend... But then there's no telling when the decision will come down and they'll probably lose @ NO with him anyway. He's better off just taking the 2 against the Saints and Vikes and putting this whole fiasco behind him.

Good point.

Trusty ole Mort said he has 3 days to appeal. The article on ESPN said the NFL can expedite a hearing before week 13 games.

His appeal would be expedited. They would know the answer by Friday which means more than likely they will just tell him no.

Per Schefter:
Quote:
Ndamukong Suh knows he made a mistake, but he has been encouraged by NFLPA and Roger Goodell to appeal 2-game suspension and he will.

Has 3 days to appeal, hearing within 10 days of that point.

Could conceivably play the Saints, and then be out for Vikings and Raiders.

IMO if his appeal is pending, that would be an opportunity for the franchise to bench him, either for part or all of the game (at least give another DT the start).

Why would Goodell encourage him to appeal it if Suh himself and even his own team knows he's in the wrong?

AND Goodell is the one that determined the length of the suspension and will be handling the appeal. Doesn't make any sense.
