I hear what youre saying, but this guy revived your (Indy) team when he got there with his draft picks a hires. Didnt have a losing season for a decade. Made the playoffs 10 years straight. You cant keep your job based on drafts made 7 years ago. Polian has been drafting poorly since 05. Maybe its a year too early, but better a year too early than a year too late

Why is Brian Schottenheimer a candidate for anything? Isn't the Jets weakness their offense? He's lucky to retain the job he has.

You keep your job based on success. He and the Colts have been successful, relative to the rest of the league, for the entire decade. This is the first year the Colts have been "non-competitive" since 1999.

I dont care how he has drafted since anything. Your team made the playoffs and did well. This year you didn't; you're fired. Nonsense.

this is the whole team success vs individual performance argument

Good players last longer than 7 years in the NFL and if you did as well drafting as the colts did 98-04 you can still have a competitive team but those players are aging and the Colts havent drafted any one else to takeover when they are gone.
