Re: Do you care for Training Camp/Preseason?

I love the pre-season. But I think that training camp can be interesting if your team has position battles, or exciting rookies. For the Redskins this year, I want to see the TE battle, Jarvis Jenkins' progress and recovery, RGIII assimilate the playbook, Pierre Garcon as the #1 (if he is) WR, the battle for the #1 running back, and how the potentially god awful secondary comes together.

So this is a year, where I will be paying more attention to training camp that normal. Only problem is "Redskins Nation" is a homer show, so I there won't be a lot of "negative" reporting.

I too am a football junkie. I am really excited about having NFL Game Rewind this year and being able to watch entire games from the coaches film. Especially with a rookie QB. Should be fun to watch RGIII progress in the playbook.

Edit: Oh and Washington has a kicking duel going on as well.

NFL Network will be airing Inside Training Camp Live on Wednesday. Show goes from 10 am - 7 pm. I think that is enough training camp coverage for anyone.

Re: Do you care for Training Camp/Preseason?

Interesting -- I wanted to dialogue about this after listening to some recent comments made by a host on a local sports talk radio show.

He basically intimated what some others have said in this thread; fast forward to September...I don't care about this stuff.

I also think there is a heavy amount of over-analysis that takes place this time of year. If you listen to the beat writers of your fave team this time of year, you either think your team is winning a championship or they're going to fail miserably.

All that said, I love training camp & the preseason. If you're emotionally invested into your team, I don't quite understand how one could care less about who's playing second & third string. Or, who's an up & comer who may challenge for some playing time this year. I love that stuff. I don't watch every pre-season snap of the Cowboys, but I will watch most of it. And I do care to review the stats after each game as well. Perhaps, I am just a junkie lol .

Its fun to start getting ready for the season, training camp is meaningless to me, preseason games are boring, but its football.
The last preseason games are a massive borefest to me.

Yeah, the last games are terrible, but I will watch the last game of whatever team is on Hard Knocks. Makes watching the following episode more "fun".
