You know, I can actually see both of those things happening.

The Packers still have a chance at the #2 seed and a first round BYE in the playoffs so they are going to give the Vikings all they've got. Also, the Lions are the Lions and haven't won since it was still warm outside.

Re: Playoff Standings

Very true.

Also, the Colts are locked in as the 5 seed over the Bengals based on having a better record against common opponents and the Bengals are locked in as the 6 seed.

And if the Pats, Broncos and Texans all finish 12-4, then NE will be the #1 seed followed by Houston as the #2 and then Denver as the #3 seed.

Re: Playoff Standings

Pats are going need some luck to get a 1st round bye. Denver plays the 2-13 Chiefs at home next week and Houston is at Indy. I don't see the Broncos losing to KC and with Indy locked in at #5 I wouldn't be surprised if they rest some guys. It looks like the AFC WC round will be: Bengals @ Pats and Colts @ Ravens.

There's still a lot of time left in tonight's game, but if things don't start going SF's way soon the Packers will be in the driver's seat for the #2 seed, which adds even more to their match-up with the Vikings next week. Also the Cowboys are playing the Redskins for the NFC East title with the loser likely missing the playoffs. It should be an interesting final week of the season.

Re: Playoff Standings

I would've loved for Washington to have gotten in this weekend. A chance to rest RGIII LCL for a potential home game vs Seattle. That said, next week Skins/Boys should be a good one for football fans on SNF (jerruh be damned.)

Re: Playoff Standings

Its amazing the Broncos have a shot at the #1 seed next week.
A win and a loss by the Texans, which seems doable now actually, and they are the #1 seed. And then Houston could fall to the #3 seed if they lose and New England wins.

Broncos, all they need to do is wrap up a win against the lousy Chiefs and they have a guaranteed bye.

Ravens have a shot at the #3 seed, but the Dolphins would need to beat the Patriots in NE in order for that to happen, plus beating Cincy.

There are a few teams that are mighty hot right now in the Broncos, Packers, and Seahawks.

And now Seattle has a shot at the #2 seed, since they would hold the tiebreaker over Green Bay thanks to that wonderful game earlier this season. Who knew that game could hold so much weight lol.

Re: Playoff Standings

Here's to hoping the Texans come out flat and the Colts punch them in the mouth in the final showdown.

Here's hoping Houston and Denver win and New England goes and screws themselves whether they win or lose.
