I'm more worried about the playcalling other than that series. SD just doesn't look that great offensively and a lot of it has to do with Rivers not being able to get it to the wideouts.

No need to tell me that, I agree, the NFL, however, doesn't.

They even showed the clip of the Johnson play that caused the rule.

The reason that play was upheld was because his forward progress was stopped which effectively ends the play, had nothing to do with feet in.

Ok, we tried the conservative approach and it got us a 10-7 deficit at the half. The only chance we have is Rivers arm. Our d won't hold Cincy to 10 points in the second half.

We have to turn this into a shootout if we want a chance to win.

From where the wild things are!

Both kinda right, if the defender got there a split second sooner before both feet were down and started the fall backward... letting the ball go as he hit the ground with it then it would have been incomplete.

The catch and 2 feet down... establishing possession is what made it forward progress, otherwise the fall would have been included in the act of making the catch.

Either way, was a correct call, pretty good challenge too.

Yeah but a guy being out of bounds or in the endzone effectively ends the play too but it still can be ruled incomplete afterwards. Just wacky rules.

It was a booth replay not a challenge. Also, that wasn't necessarily my argument for why it should be a catch. It was more an indictment on the rule. I assumed the call was going to be overturned. We are on the same page with our feelings on the rule. I'm just saying they need to add something to the rule to account for the number of steps before catch and oob.

The Bengals defensive line is really missing Atkins in this game. They can't get any real pressure up the middle.

Rivers has as many attempts in this half as the entire first half. Only one incompletion all game.
