Two bad plays by Dalton and now SD has a good chance to go up 2 scores. First he had more than enough time to throw it away and second he wasn't going to dive forward for the first and lost the ball.

You have to be touched for that to apply. Dalton wasn't giving himself up by sliding.

Yea, the rule hasn't changed.

He wasn't touched so the ground can cause a fumble in that instance.
