You could've signed somebody other than Lindley. I am being real.

Marlon McCree comes to mind.
I'll have to go back and look at the tape, but IIRC, there were literally no Seahawks' players around him.

I thought he had room to run down the sideline 20-30 yards before he could have stepped out/was forced out.

The guy easily could have ran down the sideline and gained an additional 20-30 yards and improved Green Bay's field position. If there was a minute left on the clock, I could understand downing it, but not there.

I am in complete agreement with you here. At the time, I thought it was no big deal because the game seemed well in hand and being ultra conservative making sure to not get stripped from behind or whatever when you're not used to toting the rock seemed prudent, but looking back...

It didn't seem like anyone was in Burnett's ZIP code. A 20 yard run back (perhaps more) could've been the difference between the "going for it" and "sitting on it" pages in the offensive playbook. Out of all the plays and decisions that are sure to be overanalyzed in the coming days, this little gem will probably be overlooked and could've been a biggie.

I wasn't aware that the Packers extended McCarthy back in November. Ouch! They're stuck with him no matter what, at least for a while.

Good coach, horrendous play-caller that gets bailed out constantly by having the best QB in the universe. Been that way for years.

Really? Because he started four different QBs last year and made the postseason.

Re: NFC Championship: (1) Seattle Seahawks vs. (2) Green Bay Packers

Does he call the plays or does the OC?

It looked like, for 3 quarters, that they had Seattle contained, so maybe the thinking was that don't do anything to risk turnovers which would get Seattle back into the game quickly.

Rodgers had thrown 2 picks already by that point.

But they gave Seattle enough chances to keep picking away. Maybe gassed too, because Wilson had a chance to settle down and find mismatches, like Lynch being covered by a LB downfield.

McCarthy is basically the OC also. Yes, he calls the plays.
