How can you honestly say this? He has career lows in completion rate and GB is 25th in total offense. He's had a 4-TO game and a half with 30 yards passing against Detroit, not to mention missed at least a half-dozen easy/wide open throws despite having a great pass-blocking OL.

This isn't the Aaron Rodgers of 2011, 12, or 14 at all.

Counting stats don't make a quarterback. Aaron Rodgers is still head-and-shoulders the most talented quarterback in football.

Aaron Rodgers' presence on the field alone tilts the odds to his team's favor moreso than any other player in the league based on all the things he can do on a football field with ease. Every single team in the league becomes better if you swap their starting quarterback away for Aaron Rodgers because he does with ease things that other quarterbacks don't even attempt.

The problem with the Packers' offense right now is the lack of a true vertical threat, or really general execution at the receiver position. Defenses don't believe the Packers have any deep speed - they don't. Defenses aren't scared of Packers receivers getting away from them with big runs after catches - they can't. As such they compress their coverages and make the horizontal windows much tighter, so that Rodgers has to be that much better for the Packers' offense to succeed at all. Football isn't a one-person game, regardless what the media tries to tell you.

Besides, Rodgers is still fourth in the NFL this season in Total QBR, which is the best quarterback rate statistic available. He very clearly and obviously still has it, he is still the same Aaron Rodgers. The pieces around him just aren't as good as they once were, and that the Packers appear to have missed on both Davante Adams and Ty Montgomery has stunted the offense.

Your coach said that they are a play or two away from making big plays and the Packers believe that as well.

Rodgers stats from the pocket are less than where he was prior to 2015 and his stats outside the pocket are better. He's being too impatient inside the pocket and wants to dance around and bounce outside the pocket.

CMHoe is correct, they don't pose a deep threat at WR. The WR's haven't made the big plays they have been capable in the past. Nelson and Cobb are good to great, but beyond that, there isn't any depth whatsoever. Rodgers has thrown balls down the field that they missed.

C. Eddie Lacy- This subject has already been broached in here. Lacy is avg. 5.5 ypc, but when you only have 10-12 touches per game, they need Lacy to touch the ball twice that amount to take the pressure off of Rodgers.

I think McCarthy should put in different WR's that are able to burn and go long, like Janis(too inconsistent) and an untested Trevor Davis. Also, Shiz alluded to this last year, but McCarthy should call for more quick rhythm passing and use bunch and rub routes more.

They emphasized the passing game more in practice this week. We'll see if it translate to that on the field Sunday.

Now, with all that information put out, does all of that fall on Rodgers?

Let's be honest here, no reason to start putting the pitchforks in Rodgers at this stage, don't you agree?

There should be no reason to be putting the pitchforks into Rodgers at all. Period.

Too many knee jerk reactions.

I will say he hasn't been the MVP/Best QB type guy in a while though. He's still very good. But the stuff w/COMP pct and Yards per attempt stuff that's been going around ignores the context. He's been missing throws but that doesn't mean he's now awful either...

The capes that fly out when someone is even remotely critical of Aaron Rodgers. Incredible.

Everything that goes right is because of him, everything that goes wrong is someone else's fault.

Whoever is in charge of his PR deserves a raise.

I would argue the only reason you can get away with this argument right now is because the QB position just isn't as great this year as it usually is. And even then I don't believe it to be true. Maybe on paper every team would be better, but that doesn't mean the team would play better.

That said Rodgers is still pretty good.... He'll be fine. Every QB goes through stages of questionable play.
