2013 NHL Draft

Too early? Probably but with the lockout looming why not. I'll probably watch a lot of WHL games this year if there's a lockout.

I think the motto for 2013 draft is "Stop winnin' for MacKinnon. The #1 guy is Nathan MacKinnon, #2 D Seth Jones. I'll be watching a lot of Hunter Shinkaruk though, one of the best scorers in this draft. He scored 49 goals 42 assist in 66 games as a 17 year old this past year.

Weighted Lottery:
Quote:
The Draft Drawing, a weighted lottery system, was used to determine the order of selection for all seven rounds of the Entry Draft. Under the weighted lottery system, the clubs that neither qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each of the 2001-02, 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons, nor were awarded the first overall selection in each of the 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 Entry Drafts, had the greatest chance of receiving the first overall selection, 6.3 per cent.
Stole this from my bud on another forums:

Pavel Buchnevich is a name to watch. He is 17-years-old and already playing in the KHL.

Also Slepyshev was draft eligible last yr. Don't know where he's projected other than being listed in Russia A Skaters but someone could have gotten him with a 7th in 2012 and now will have to use much higher pick.

I hope like hell that Popey Jones' kid Seth doesn't end up becoming a Maple Leaf. That has disaster written all over it.

I'll laugh. I'll laugh even harder if Columbus somehow get the top 3 pick in the draft

Re: 2013 NHL Draft

This would be the only positive aspect of a lockout. I know this is the only shot that the Bruins have of drafting top ten. I would say at this point MacKinnon is probably a safe bet to go #1 overall followed by Jones or Monahan.

I love the draft though, it's just exciting to see all this new talent coming into the league.
