Highway robbery. Tells you how out of wack valuations are if you do an EPL to EPL transfer. The fact that Benteke costs more than Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas, and Vidal is ridiculous to me. Vidal is a world class box to box midfielder who is worth every penny north of £45 million

Re: The Transfer Thread

But you have to remember a couple things.

1) The Euro, which is what that deal is actually being transacted in, is not strong. It's about the same as the US dollar these days. Italian teams are leaking money left and right. 40+ million Euros looks pretty damn good to Juve.

2) Benteke's deal is not being dictated by the open market. It is what his release clause is.

3) Bayern has some kind of Jedi mind trick thing where they rip a team off every summer. At least it wasn't Dortmund this time.

Yeah, I'm not dogging Benteke. I think he's a fine player and proven goal scorer, especially when you consider the trainwreck that Villa's been over the last 3 years. Even after that fine year he probably wouldn't have fetched 32mil. He immediately gives Pool a danger-man on set pieces/corners with his aerial ability.

Oh I believe Benteke will be a monster for you guys and at least gives you some sort of good quality if Sturridge can't get on the pitch. Beats Borini, Balotelli, and Lambert any day of the week.

Well, Bayern did take one on the chin with the Toni Kroos deal last summer. Still can't believe he went that cheaply despite only having 1 year left on his deal.

I highly doubt it because Sturridge is out until at least October. I think they're going to loan Lambert and sell Borini.

Re: The Transfer Thread

I think Lambert could go permanently if I'm honest. WBA have been sniffing around him for a while. I highly doubt that Balotelli will be still there on the first of September. That would leave us Benteke (assuming he signs), Sturridge, Ings, Origi and Firmino can play there if necessary.
