So I just got back to Liverpool around 5 hours ago from Madrid.

What a weekend! Left the wife at home and took my son away as a surprise, even without a ticket it was just a phenomenal place to be. I got to see the Cavs win a championship in 2016 and I thought that was the biggest outpouring of emotion I’d see until I saw my son after that last whistle. That’s the kind of thing that just brings me so much happiness as a father.

Liverpool fans were amazing too. I’ve always been welcomed in the city as an outsider and they were great again in Madrid. We walked into a bar to watch the game and they saw me with my son and said to me “here lad, there’s a seat here at the front for the little feller” and they looked after us all game, buying a beer or two for me and making sure my boy was hydrated all game too. Then when Origi scored that second goal one dude had him on his shoulders. It was always my dream to end up in Liverpool when I first moved to Europe and this is the pinnacle of it for me.

Six times y’all. What a club.

Clyne scored the first goal of the preseason. Wonder what we're gonna do with him this season. He is a great backup option but probably won't want to be that.
