He certainly deserves a chance. I wouldn't gripe one bit if it's Horvath, Hamid, and Steffen next month. Why not, lol..

Atlanta United is my son's favorite team, and I've enjoyed watching them in 2017. They've been a fantastic addition to MLS, and I'm sad to see them get knocked out. Atlanta vs. NYCFC would've been fun! But damn, Steffen deserved that clean sheet and win tonight. That was a very entertaining 0-0 match through full time and extra time.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Next round begins tonight. Vancouver VS Seattle.

Don't entirely care who out of west makes it to finals, as long as TFC represents east. Then it'd either be Canadian finals, repeat of last year, best in East VS best in west, or most home wins VS fewest road wins.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread

No goals in regulation in the last three playoff games. (Houston's came in extra time.) Yuck.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Seattle is boring. Fluke win mls cup in shootout after getting 0 shots on goal, now their first playoff game since..... 1 shot, 0 goals in a tie.

If I understand the aggregate rule, if their next game is a tie that's not 0-0, Vancouver wins? Obviously whoever wins the game wins the series, but just want clarification on the other scenarios.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread

The tiebreaker is away goals, so yes.

In fairness to Seattle they scored eight playoff goals before the final last season. I can't blame them for playing defensively on the road.

Edit: Just saw Seattle had the only shot in the Sea-Van game. One shot combined is a record low for the playoffs.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Closer than I thought, but TFC still beats NY 2-1! Giovinco with yet another free kick goal!

Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Columbus beats NYCFC 4-1. 2 NY teams possibly out in same round for 2nd straight year.
