Re: NFL Head Coach Series future

The HC development team was absorbed into the Madden Dev team. There is nobody left to make us an awesome HC game because they're all working on madden's career mode.

You'd -think- that'd give us...

Re: Building a better draft value chart

As a side note, getting into the top 5 can be done a bit easier by trading players that the other team highly values (even if you don't value them). I once traded into #1 overall using two tight ends...

Re: Building a better draft value chart

from my point of view, round 7 in general has little-to-no value, simply due to contract concerns. rounds 2-6 give me 3 year contracts, where if my guy is a diamond-in-the-rough, I've got a season to...

Re: Perfect Game Thread

Because my backup QB from 2010 wanted a starting QB's salary to play maybe a quarter or two per year (screw that), and Riley was available in the 5th round for pocket change.

Perfect Game Thread

Dig out your best screenshots (or even your notes on franchise threads, etc) and show me what you've got. I'll lead off.

So, I started season #4 with my pet project Redskins tonight. Week #1 in...

Re: Player Development

interesting. anecdotal evidence always said that cornerbacks were one of the slowest positions to develop, after tight ends, fullbacks, and kickers/punters.

I thought for sure they were slower...

Re: High POT Drafting 101

A character with three "nones" in weaknesses is 99% of the time a pro-bowl level player.

A character with one "none" in weaknesses is usually at least playable, and most of the time a solid...

Re: Knowledge from the past

My HC has a 1/5 in chemistry, yet I rarely get much heat from my players. I might get a guy who is annoyed he isn't starting, but nothing comes of it. I might get a guy complaining to the media, but...

Re: Ebongreen's advice & observations thread

Good to see you still visit us from time to time Ebon. You, MRS, and Al/Byron/whateverhe'llbenamednext are the big three when it comes to providing us with info.

Re: Game is Just Too Easy

This.

Al/Byron was on at least his 2nd username, possibly his third. he'll be back once again I'm sure.

He does provide a lot of good info, but has a habit of being very obstinate and...

Re: Game is Just Too Easy

The game isn't that easy if you suck at it. I can attest to that.

Re: Evolution of a staff(patriots disection)

Just a side topic note...

I've got a fantastic DB coach on my redskins team. I mean fantastic. mostly potential 5, with a few potential 4, and that's without superb strategist.

Last offseason,...

Re: Game is Just Too Easy

I'm a big fan of ebongreen's sliders. they're not realistic, but they're fun. however, if you match them with a good passing playbook and the vertical passing or spread philosophies, then have your...

Re: Most difficult teams to turn around

At this point, I'm thinking that how hard your game is going to be comes down to:

1. playbook/philosophy
2. sliders
3. how you choose to play your playbook (unlearned vs mastered, etc)
4. draft...

Re: Most difficult teams to turn around

After all my complaining about how difficult the redskins were, we actually won the superbowl in 2009. It was NOT easy. the team has any number of flaws, but everybody seemed to come together when it...

Re: Who have you seen come out of retirement?

I had a 36 year-old RG who was ovl 74 out of pot 74 come out of retirement litterly a month or so after he retired.

he rejoined my team automatically for "league minimum" (really, about $840k a...

Re: Most difficult teams to turn around

In my current franchise the Raiders have Run DMC and Joe Kain. it's pretty hard not to accidentally win a few games with those two, and the raiders actually were the first team to beat me (it's since...

Most difficult teams to turn around

In your personal experience, which teams are the most difficult to turn into superbowl champions?

I've played probably 1/3 of the teams in the league, but only the following teams did I make it...

Re: Draft Paths

I've found English to be the easiest. if you know the right players, you can turn -any- team, no matter how bad, into division champions and superbowl contenders by the time you come out of the...

Re: Glenn Dorsey?

I've been running with Athya Rubin in my current franchise's "patriots pressure" 3-4, and he was serviceable. He wasn't a superstar by any means, but he got the job done, allowing my superstar LB...
