Hey guys what scale does osfm use for player attributes. For example if a player is a 50 power vs right does that mean he will hit approximately 20 hrs in a season?Im trying to get as realistic rosters as possible in between osfm roster releases! Thanks

Re: Attributes
But I believe the base OSFM rosters use whatever scale SCEA uses. They mostly just add in IRL prospects on teams.
The "hybrids" and "re-rates" are the ones that likely have their own scaling to the ratings."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Attributes
This would probably be better asked in the rosters forum. Tons of roster editors and creators over there.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
I'm regretting not doing 30 team control for my franchise, the first place Yankees just traded 10-0 with a sub 2.50 era Masahiro Tanaka and David Robertson to the Padres for Eric Hosmer. SD is playing .400 baseball at the momentComment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
That being said, I don’t think thats a super weird trade. Robertson is past 30 and an impending free agent, so its more of a Tanaka for Hosmer swap. Contract for contract? Plus Hosmer would be killer batting in Yankee stadium with his lefty swing between Stanton and Judge.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Oh, the New York Mets.
A franchise that has often been snake-bitten in its near 60-year history suffered another devastating sting on the final night of August in San Francisco.
Yoenis Cespedes, who was firmly entrenched in the 2018 National League MVP race with a .318 batting average, 41 home runs and 95 RBI, saw his season ended in the bottom of the eighth inning of the Mets' 5-1 victory over the Giants at AT&T Park.
Attempting a diving catch on a shallow fly ball, Cespedes recovered to get the ball back to the infield after it bounced off of his glove, but moments after, fell back to the ground, clutching his left shoulder. It would later be determined that he suffered major cartilage damage to the shoulder and he's expected to be out 2-3 months, effectively ending his season, and dealing a potentially crippling blow to the Mets' World Series hopes.
After struggling through August, the Mets appeared to be closing the month on a high note, as they tagged San Francisco ace Madison Baumgartner for 5 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings of work. The win snapped New York's four-game losing streak, but that was of little importance after the injury to Cespedes.
With Cespedes out, Michael Conforto will assume the No. 3 spot in the lineup and slide over to LF, allowing Juan Lagares to become the new every day CF.
In other Mets injury news TJ Rivera suffered ligament damage to one of his fingers and is also expected to miss 2-3 months.

If I hear anyone complain about lack of injuries in this game, tell them to read this post. I play on default All-Star across the board.Last edited by DJ; 08-02-2018, 11:26 AM.Currently Playing:

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
The FSanchez led Pittsburgh Pirates entered the Trade Deadline with a large ? mark around their Franchise player in Andrew McCutchen. McCutchen, who had spent nearly the whole year at .220-.230 in batting average, and well below expectations in offensive production. However, since moving to the 2-slot in the order, had been hitting .400 since the All Star Break. The Bucs could add a CF to fill out their roster, and move Cutch to the bench, or ride out their star's struggles. With 6 games between the division leading Cubs, and the Bucs, and a firm grip on the Wild Card, the Bucs decided to put their eggs in the Cutch basket, and trust the process.
It worked.
The Pirates reeled off an incredible run through August and September, chasing down the the division leading Cubs, on the wings of hot hitting from Cutch, who raised his average to .298 by year's end, and from rookie Josh Bell, who seemed to be "Mr. RBI". Bell would go on to win the Rookie of the Year award, after trading "Rookie of the Month" honors with Cody Bellinger throughout the season. It came down to Game 162 for the Bucs and Cubs. Both win or lose? Game 163 in Pittsburgh the following night. One loses? The other wins the division, the loser is relegated to the Wild Card game later that week. Both would go on to win Game 162 (Pirates drubbed the NL East Champion Washington Nationals), setting up a showdown in Pittsburgh for the NL Central. The Bucs trotted out Ivan Nova, who's hot pitching in the 2nd half paced the team on the defensive side of the ball. The Pirates dispatched the Cubs easily in Game 163, giving them the NL Central Crown, their first Division Title since the 1992 NL East.
The jubilation in Pittsburgh would be short-lived, however. The Pirates hot offense was doused out by Max Scherzer and the Nationals in Game 1 of the NLDS in Pittsburgh. Scherzer's 1-hit shutout set the standard for the series, and while the Pirates would force the series to go an additional game, they were outlasted by the Nationals pitching. Those same Nationals would go on to win the World Series, defeating the Houson Astros in 7 games.
As Steelers Season kicks into full gear, and the Penguins start dropping the puck on defending their back-to-back Cups, the Pirates remain at the forefront of sports talk in town. What happens to Andrew McCutchen in 2018? Did Austin Meadows force the Pirates hand in CF? Will Tony Watson return as closer? Lastly, what on earth is going to be done with the rotation? They have 5 spots, for easily 8 ML-ready arms. I'll update the offseason in my next post, where I detail possibly my toughest decision in a sports game ever, do I keep Andrew McCutchen?Comment

I don't think I moved for a couple of minutes after the injury notification appeared on the screen and hinted that Cespedes could be out for the season. Devastating. Was hoping against hope it'd be a stint or two on the 10-day DL.
Going to really have to rely on my pitching to carry the day, along with Conforto-Bruce-Frazier in the middle of the lineup.Currently Playing:

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
I still have a lack of injuries.
I got two on the DL...I'm starting July. That's not a lot. I have literally 0 injuries (day-to-day or DL) in my two other franchises combined.
The only MLB team with so few injuries is the White Sox, and they have 3. Most everyone else has DL injuries galore.

That was the last game of August. What's weird is that it's September 1st and the game is talking about call-ups, yet on my screen it says there's still 3 days until I can call up players to the expanded rosters. Not sure why that is.Currently Playing:

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Shane Kane suffered a roadblock on his excellent rookie campaign as he will be out up to 8 weeks with an injury he suffered in the Marlins 5-4 loss to the Rays, the second consecutive 5-4 loss.
The team's offense continues to cool. Sam Javeri is back on a down swing as his average has dropped to .265 while Mark Morrow and Arturo Gonzalez in the bottom of the lineup are also having a rough time of things.
Scarier still is that Stan Brito might also be suffering. The NL's leading hitter and owner of a .354 batting average might be seeing a bit of a reversion, which likely will cause some issues at this rate.
New face Dalton Couch came in relief for Kane's injury and looked solid until he just wore down.
"I was impressed, he didn't seem like a nine ERA guy to me, " the Marlins manager commented, "I can't wait to see him in a more normal situation."
The Marlins are 2-3 since ending their win streak. They still have a sizable lead in the division, but are more concerned with playing well and working out the kinks.
"We'll make the playoffs, but we'll be done in the first series if we play like this, " manager Richard Batista commented."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment
