I wonder if that is why ratings are not heavily relied on by EA? As you said, if ratings were all too important, college football would have no upsets and that, as we all know, is the wonders of college football.

You could still have upsets if ratings mattered heavily IF they were rated correctly. Because at the end of the day, it still comes down to calling the correct plays at the right times.

The problem is with default rosters that ship with the game you have too many players on big name schools over rated, regardless if that person didn't even play a down the year before.

Then you have the smaller schools who are given 40s and 50s across the board regardless of the fact that they are an all american player and an impact player for their team.

however with the ratings the way they are, upsets are not really upsets.. people expect UAB to beat Alabama...
