Official 2009 NFL Scouting Combine Thread

Combine starts tomorrow and runs through the 24th so what players are you interesting in seeing or hearing about and who do you think will have a good workout and who do you think won't do too good?

I was expecting Michael Crabtree to be the disappointment... But I guess he's not going to work out? Big surprise.

I called that mid season.

Expecting Larry English to keep climbing. He may land himself in the first round.

I heard on NFLN he wasn't going to run but who knows what he'll end up doing.

Crabtree isn't running, and why would he? There are concerns over his speed (some projecting in the 4.5 -4.6 range) so why risk having his stock fall?

Wasn't saying he should or shouldn't run, just pointed out that he is in fact skipping.

Yea, i gotcha.

I for one would like to see everyone participate. From a player stand point it makes sense to do whats best for you, but as a fan of my team, i dont want them drafting either some workout stud who sucks (Chris Henry, RB Titans) or someone who rides the momentum from the season and doesnt work out.

Quote:
INDIANAPOLIS -- Medical testing at the scouting combine here revealed that Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree, one of the top prospects in this year's NFL draft, has a slight stress fracture in his left foot that will require surgery to insert a screw, league sources said Saturday morning.

The injury and surgery is expected to sideline Crabtree for at least 10 weeks, jeopardizing his NFL pro day, which now is expected to be cancelled, and raising questions about when he will be healthy again. But doctors believe that with the precautions the All-American wide receiver is willing to take, Crabtree will be sufficiently recovered in time for training camp this summer.

After doctors found the slight stress fracture on Friday they conducted more testing on Crabtree, including a bone scan that revealed that the injury happened only recently, possibly during training for the combine. Since finding it, Crabtree has been investigating the best and smartest way to treat the injury.
Andre Smith is also not at the combine.
