***NCAA 12 Release Day Sliders***

UPDATED: 7/13

I was lucky enough to land an early copy of NCAA 12 and have put quite a bit of time into testing and playing with these both in game and on the practice field already. I know a lot of people will want a good base to start from when they get the game so I decided to post these for people who don't want to spend a lot of time tweaking sliders right away.

This year the game is pretty challenging right out of the box on All-American and as you will see many sliders do not need to be touched. There are a few areas (such as the CPU running game) that need some help however and these slider tweaks help to alleviate most if not all of the minor issues with the game. I hope you guys enjoy NCAA 12 as much as I do now after these small changes.

HOW I PLAY:
1. No Cheese (money plays, etc.)
2. Use one of the three ask coach plays on offense and defense
3. Try not to audible or hot route as much as possible
4. Play SIM football

*** I use these rules when playing the CPU because they are dumber than a HUM player and by using these rules I find that it makes it more of an even playing field.***

My focus when I tweak sliders is two-fold:
  1. Make the game challenging
  2. Create realistic outcomes and statistics

Just curious, why did you put user rush defense and user tackling at 0?

Re: ***NCAA 12 Release Day Sliders***

Both user rush defense and user tackling at 0 are used to help the CPU run game. User tackling at 0 seems crazy I know but I've tested this starting at 50 and decreasing by 5 at a time. The new tackling system I think has a lot to do with the effectiveness of tackling this year because putting tackling at 0 in years' past was a no-no as you would see way too many broken tackles.

With tackling at 0 this year it improves the CPU run game as well as their return game without seeing way too many broken tackles and huge plays. Again I have tested these settings for multiple games so far with great results.

I get right around 120 plays per game, but it will vary for everyone depending on how much hot routing or audibling they do pre-snap.

Re: ***NCAA 12 Release Day Sliders***

Thanks a ton man, this is great.

Quick questions:

1- Were these created using the initial patch?

2- I noticedhow easy it was to sack the opposing QB in the demo. Is this an issue that was resolved in the retial release or what?

Re: ***NCAA 12 Release Day Sliders***

(1) Yes as far as I know the update I downloaded on Friday when I got the game was the first patch that is set for release day.

(2) The sack situation is a problem with the CPU qb holding on to the ball too long, its something that is not an issue every game however. Some games a I will get 7 or 8 sacks but other games just a few. Might have to be something that is addressed with a patch or tuner.
