Hopes and Dreams at a Mile High — A PS2 The Show Dynasty

General Managers win Tiltes is the saying around sports as a whole...even if it is the collection of talent on said roster that got the organization the title. Managers manage, whether it be baseball, football, hockey, etc.

I am taking over as the field manager of the Colorado Rockies, back in 2010. Names like Todd Helton and Jason Giambi were household names and perennial All-Star vote getters. Then you had up-and-coming talent like Ubaldo Jimenez, Troy Tulowitzki (aka Tulo) and the amazing closer in Huston Street. This team’s time was now, before Jimenez got injury riddled, Helton retiring and Tulo moving on the a different ball club.

What drew me to select the Rockies, a poll I conducted ages ago gave me the push I needed. Plus, playing in Coors Field for 81 games is always fun.

I’ll be donning the managerial cap, giving the CPU control over everything that would have been handled by the General Manager (waivers, trades, training (just cause it’s a pain), management decisions, free agency, player contracts, facilities, marketing, banking) I myself will be in charge of lineups, pitching rotations, 40-man roster, injuries/rehab.

My goal is to manage a series a week, and give an overall update. I want to include standings periodically, awards chasers, milestones, etc.

I will have a couple posts reserved for things like yearly W-L totals, World Series outcomes, retiring players (and if anyone had ties to the Rockies) HOF inductees (should I make it that far). This is going to be a text-based dynasty, as I don’t own a computer and PS2 didn’t allow for the replay/overview the new systems do. Any image I source from the internet isn’t my own, and is used STRICTLY for entertainment purposes and I get nothing in return
