Re: WWE Off-Topic

It was mentioned in the Cody Rhodes thread that he may have been the biggest waste of talent the WWE has had. Who are some of the other guys they have dropped the ball on? Two that come to mind for me are Cesaro and Luger. Cesaro was on fire leading up to WM30, I think he even had a clean win over then champion Orton on Raw before the Elimination Chamber match, then they stick him with Heyman for no reason other than to give Heyman a reason to be on TV talking about Lesnar beating The Undertaker. I think Vince's refusal to acknowledge anything that happened outside of WWE is what killed Luger. If he would have just showed up as The Total Package instead of that terrible Narcissist gimmick and then getting repackaged as a white Apollo Creed I think he would have had a lot more success. I've seen people mention WWE missing a big opportunity with Barrett but I wasn't watching at the time

Speaking of Luger.

Read something today that he was supposed to win the title at 10 over Yoko. They intended him to go on to face Borga but Borga got hurt and they scrapped the whole thing.

Who knows if that's got an ounce of truth to it.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

I never liked Luger, IMO they got more out of him than they ever should've.

Reading an article about an ESPN 30 for 30 on Ric Flair led me to this old Grantland (RIP) article about him that I thought I'd share for anyone else who hasn't read it:

grantland.com/features/the-wrestler-real-life/

I always knew Flair had been through some **** but didn't know the specifics.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

17 years ago today. Still one of the saddest wrestling deaths of my lifetime. I really miss Owen Hart man.

Also fits into the current discussion because I think Vince dropped the ball on Owen. He could have been a fantastic heel champion. Owen was definitely a victim of his era because had he been around in his prime for a time like now, or in the Ruthless Aggression era I think his skill set and ability on the mic might have gotten him the proper shine he deserved.

I don't recollect Owen being much of a talker? This is how I remember his mic skills lol.
