Re: WWE Off-Topic

How do they get the WWE footage they used? I can’t see them possibly approving it. I’m assuming you don’t need consent if the clips are short enough. That part towards the end was brutal where they showed all those chair shots to the head. He didn’t look like it during the documentary when he was talking, but I can’t believe how much Benoit’s son looks like him in the footage of him with Nancy’s sister

Re: WWE Off-Topic

Seeing all the chair shots, theres so many things about WWEs past I'm glad aren't around anymore.

Blood, head shots, treatment of divas and all that. Great to be past all that stuff.

One of the things you can appreciate so much more about the current era. You cant picture people on roster today really ending up the way so many old school guys ended up mentally and physically.

It's falls under fair use guidelines.

Also if you put a picture of Chris and David side by side you can see how striking the resemblance is.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

The Benoit story is also messed up how similar at times it reminded me of the OJ story.

Also crazy to think that Benoit was also almost insane enough at that time where he might have actually gotten on the plane after claiming his wife and son were "sick", and competed at a PPV.

If not for the well being check simply because Benoit wasnt answering anyone, how long might it have taken before they realized something in the house, or how long might he have been on TV, knowing the whole time what happened (or what else he might have done if he did end up being at WWE shows, staying at hotels with other superstars and all that).

Could you imagine an arrest warrant put out for him in the middle of a WWE show.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

Not quoting, but Jericho's comment about how after Eddie died, Chris's fate was sealed and he was likely going to meet a tragic demise was 100% accurate.

The description of the crime scene was hard to listen to, even though I knew most of the details already, it had been a long time since I'd actually thought about what happened and the order of events. Chilling.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

The creepiest of all crime scene photos was the pic of his sons bed with the knife underneath it.

The texts between Benoit and his wife at a diff point in time were interesting. He was calling the wellness policy a joke.

Did he mean a joke as in "why are they testing us for everything", or a joke as in it's easy to cheat the system.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

Watching Part 2, damn this documentary is hard to watch but you just have to watch. Just a few thoughts:

- The way JR gets so damn defensive about the tribute show, just say they didn't know what happened and if they knew at the time what happened, the tribute show wouldn't have happened. The fact he killed them days before hanging himself, let alone thinking of still doing the PPV where he would have won the ECW Championship is scary to think about. Fans would have likely cheered him, been happy for him to win the Championship and not a single fan, Vince, or anyone in WWE would have known a murderer was holding one of your championships acting as if nothing happened.

- I know the media loves to take shots at Pro Wrestling and when a wrestler dies, it's Christmas to them. Just seeing how harsh they were about it and how certain it was steroids and just pushing that narrative. I know Pro Wrestling & Steroids go together but still absolutley ridiculous.

- Why such resentment toward WWE by David & Nancy's sister? Before reality hit, WWE did do a tribute show to honor Chris and his family out of respect. Do they blame WWE for what happened and thus why when JR showed up, they despised him? I assume they blamed WWE in the same Martha Hart blamed them for Owen's death.

- I 100% agree with Jericho that because of what happened, it's a shame we can't honor Nancy and the "Woman" character for her contributions in the business.

- For David to get all this heat for what his father did when he was innocent and did nothing is insane. I can't imagine what he went through after that, and so glad he and Nancy's sister were able to reconnect after all these years thanks to Jericho.
