Given that the NASCAR race in Charlotte is happening the next day, huge missed opportunity to have it in Charlotte and cross promote with Fast Lane on Saturday and having WWE talent at the race the next day.

Odd. There are dozens of other wrestlers through the years who could/should have been managers, but moved to in-ring roles for whatever reason. I thought Vince disliked managers and thought they were a waste of pay.

To be fair, it's not like Goldberg was some random indie dude they signed off the street for that spot. He had specific name value as an established draw from 2 major promotions the most important being WWE.
