The road agents are the ones that "direct" the match from my understanding. I'm sure depending on who is in the match the wrestlers have more say in the pacing a spots.

On Jericho's podcast with Rey Mysterio this week he mentioned coming up with the ending of unmasking Rey while Rey was going for a 619 and then winning on a roll-up and not getting Vince's approval. So he got Vince to the ring and demonstrated it with Mysterio, which changed Vince's mind.

So there are instances where that happens I suppose but most get done by the agents/producers is my best guess.

Loving the fact that nowadays I can listen to the likes of Stone Cold, Jim Ross and Chris Jericho talking for a few hour a week with friends and guys in the business (although it's still weird to hear them promote sponsors). Someone check out Piper's podcast already? Really don't know what to expect from him.

WWE doesn't use plants.

They do offer some sweet deals for superfans, but they have to travel. They are by no means "plants."
