Re: Raw 07/30/12 - Local man ruins everything

I really hope they build off of Raw 1,000 and really have a plan going forward. This is an important show because they can really make people believe that this is a new direction going forward if they follow up strong with a surprise or two. They'll really drop the ball if they go back to the same mundane stuff.

Have the show open with a highlight reel from last week to remind the crowd to boo for Punk. Have him come out (I agree he should come out to a new theme) and drop his pipe bomb. Like I said in the Raw 1,000 thread it should follow a basic protocol and go something like this:

This title which used to be the thing that real wrestlers like myself would literally kill to hold has become secondary to the adventures of John Cena, a man who's apparently bigger than this piece of crap eyesore he created and bigger than the company he works for. Now the Rock comes back, drops a bunch of stupid catchphrases and Hobbit references, and all of a sudden he gets a shot at something I bleed, sweat and wreck my body to hold onto every night, because what? It fits into the movie star's schedule? You see a year ago I spoke my mind about the way things go around here. I had a million phone calls and e-mails congratulating me for speaking my mind, but really... what's changed?"
Then have him get interrupted by goofy Cena (yes, goofy Cena not serious Cena). Have Cena make his stupid jokes, make fun of Punk, and announce that the board of directors have granted him a rematch at Summerslam only for Punk to say that "this is what's wrong with the WWE and it's time to end it. It's time to finish what was started last week." Cena drops his mic, and puts his fists up. Punk puts his hands in the air and turns his back. The Big Show's music hits. Cena smiles, and starts attacking Punk. As soon as Show hits the ring, it becomes too much and they start the beatdown on Cena.

"IF YA SMELLLLL" hits and The Rock B-Lines for CM Punk. He and Cena get the upperhand and Punk/Show escape.

"Let's light it up" hits and AJ comes out to announce that some of Punk's concerns are legitimate. If the Rock is here tonight he's wrestling (huge crowd ovation). Tonight it will be The Rock and John Cena reforming their Survivor Series team to take on Big Show and CM Punk. (Gets AJ over as GM, gets Rock over as "one of the guys" wrestling on a Monday night, gets Raw over as maybe something that could be must see every week to the casuals, and not something that was a one time thing).

After commercial we cut to the back and we see the resurgence of David Otunga who is rehired as legal counsel to AJ. He's sucking up to her and telling her what a great decision she's made. Over the summer I'd have a storyline where Otunga essentially runs the show by manipulating AJ's "condition". Other superstars and the WWE Universe see what's going on but she's blind to it which nets Otunga serious heat (this will also help AJ fill the GM role as Otunga is awesome on the mic and can act as "heel GM" when needed and AJ can override him as "face GM" when needed as well, it could work).

Have Cena and Rock backstage segments where they talk about how come the Royal Rumble it's going to be the two of them and Cena is going to prove Rock's victory was a fluke. They go back and forth like this.

In the main event, you have Rock and Cena playing the one-up game trying to out-do one another. They start bickering, and CM Punk steals the win going over John Cena. The Rock looks on shocked that Cena got pinned and stands over him bitching him out. Out of nowhere Punk cracks Rock in the back of the head with the belt and lays him out next to Cena. As they both lay there unconscious Punk mouth's "keep overlooking me", then fade out.

I think pairing Show with Punk would be an excellent idea. Punk being the brains and Show being the muscle. It would help get Punk more over as a heel because I think alone, he'll have a tougher time because everybody likes him from casual fans to the "IWC".

That's a lot of reading but I saw AJ's name and The Rock's, so I hope whatever you said happens.

I am really hoping that CM Punk goes back to using "This Fire Burns" again tonight. I'd be kind of disappointed if he continues using "Cult of Personality" as a heel.

Yeah, Fire Burns is one of my favorite themes of the last 10 years. I'd love if he went back to that. I know the lyrics of COP are heelish, but the 'tempo/mood' of the song (if that makes sense) screams "face character" to me.

He was getting mixed reactions at the house shows. He beat Kane and Bryan but that doesn't really say much as we have no idea what they are anymore either.

Heyman just doesn't do it for me anymore. I find him rather annoying especially with this whole, "that's a lawsuit, that's a suitsuit, etc." schtick he's been pulling all the time lately. I agree he is good on the mic in terms of being able to handle himself out there and can easily draw the heat, i just don't find anything he says entertaining or interesting anymore. I prefer old Heyman, not suit & tie Heyman.

I didn't think he was that impressive last week, taking a shot at Triple H's family is a topic to generate heat and it was obviously planned to get Stephanie involved in Raw 1000 and get him upset to the point that he agrees to the match so it wasn't even like it was a creative spur of the moment thing he came up with on the mic, it was a planned personal attack.

I just find him rather annoying especially because he doesn't seem to have anything worth wild to say. All he has said in his interviews is that he's suing and he's not falling for the bait and that Brock wasn't fighting Triple H. He certainly does his job by riling up the crowd but i just hope he starts to get more interesting on the mic.
