Still, 3 months without the champ? If Rollins went away for 3 months but was champ the whole time, would people think that's fine? What about Reigns? Not having someone holding a title around just makes no sense.

Meh, it depends on what else was going on at the time but I definitely don't recall complaining much about the Champ not being around during those months.

I believe that was the Dolph Ziggler/Luke Harper IC feud and the Bray Wyatt/Dean Ambrose feuds (yawns).

Yeah, you may not have liked it but Lesnar was CRAZY over during that period and I remember everyone posting how it was a little odd he wasn’t around but the champ didn’t need to be around, it created big fight atmospheres when he did come around. Trust me, that entire first Reign as champ was something pretty new both with his character and with him not being around a lot and people bought in left and right.

The now standard Brock hate only really came around when they tried to give him a second reign like the first one, people were over it st that point.
