Jimmy Butler was one of the many All-Stars who changed teams this off-season. He’s a workhorse who has finished in the top four in minutes per game the past four seasons. Over the past three seasons he has increased his scoring and assists per game. So what’s next for Jimmy Butler as he gets ready to start his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves?

Well Butler will be reunited with coach Tom Thibodeau who made Butler an All-Star player while with the Chicago Bulls. This time ... Read More

More ratings have come out for NBA Live 16. This time I have a problem with the ratings for the top small forwards in the game. Of course we know LeBron James is the best player in the league and Kevin Durant is not far behind. Carmelo Anthony, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard round out the top five.
LeBron is the highest rated player in the game and I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with his 97 on-ball defense though. LeBron is an excellent defender who can guard many positions ... Read More

The folks at EA Sports are releasing the ratings for the top players at their position for NBA Live 16. They released the top six point guards and I did have a slight problem with the list but decided not to write anything about it. Today they released the top five shooting guards and I have a big problem with this list.
The list consists of James Harden, Klay Thompson, Kobe Bryant, Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade. These are all great players but I have a problem with the order. Harden is easily ... Read More

Let me say that I enjoy NBA 2K15. It is February and I’m still playing the game and that usually never happens. This is not my favorite 2K; that still goes to NBA 2K11. I loved the way the players ran plays in that game. This year I took a different approach while playing the game. First I didn’t play on Hall of Fame and second I didn’t try to play the game every day.

Playing on Hall of Fame in the past just made me upset. I knew the game of basketball, I knew my team, I knew the ... Read More

It is September and we barely got any information about NBA Live 15. They finally announced Damian Lillard will be the cover athlete and that got a few people excited but we don’t have any real details about the game. We have not seen the game and it comes out in a month.
On the other hand NBA 2k has released two different trailers, showed off cheerleaders and mascots while telling us about different game modes for last gen and this gen consoles. They introduced us to Ernie Johnson and Shaquille ... Read More

I don't really jump into online leagues for sports games. I have played in some for Madden. I was thinking about an idea for Online Sports Leagues. I'm not a big fan of ratings because people just grab the best rated team even if they don't like that team. I think Connected Franchise works in Madden.

In basketball things get a little tougher because the individual player is more important. People want to have LeBron, Durant or Griffin on their team.

What if the Online ... Read More

When a new sports game is released we quickly look at the ratings of our favorite players and compare to other players. When people play online they quickly grab the highest rated team or player regardless if they are fans. With all these updates in sports games I think it’s time to slowly walk away from ratings.
I don’t want to completely get rid of ratings because they are helpful especially to a person new to a game or sport. Ratings can help a person choose the right player to fit their ... Read More

Career modes need some work. They need to add new features and training mechanics. They should teach someone how to play the game but also keep the veterans of the series happy with tougher challenges. NBA 2k has a good career mode but it can be so much better.
One thing I dislike about career modes is the fact that we can’t adjust our attributes before we start playing. These games just randomly give out attributes. It’s supposed to be a creation process; therefore we should pick the stats ... Read More

For as long as I can remember whenever I got a sports game I created myself, started a season, drafted myself and tried to play as many seasons as I could. This process was even better when I played basketball games with my brother and then eventually with my college roommates. We would create players but couldn’t have an overall over 79. We picked a random team, drafted our players and used player lock throughout the season.
Most sports games these days offer a career mode for an individual ... Read More
