Las Vegas -- Colorado State (11-2) caps an excellent season with a 24-10 Las Vegas Bowl win over Oregon State (6-7).
Raymond Sarter was named player of the game after rushing for 41 yards and two touchdowns.
The rain caused terrible playing conditions as neither team could do much in the air or on the ground as total offense was Oregon State 195 - CSU 253.
CSU WR Tyson Liggett did set up the rams for their two rushing TDs by being tackled on the 1 yard line and the 2 yard line on seperate occasions. Liggett finished with 5 catches for 58 yards.
QB Pete Thomas put the game out of reach when he connected with TE Ben Tedford for a 2 yard TD. This was Tedfords first reception of the year.
Lombardi Trophy winner Davis Burl came up strong with 3 sacks, giving him a total of 13 on the year. DE James and CB Mitchell also had 1 sack each. CB Momo Thomas had 1 interception and 6 tackles in the game too.
Oregon State did have a few bright spots as Junior HB Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 90 yards on 13 carries in what could be his last colliegate game. WRs Bishop and Nichols both had 61 yards receiving with Nichols also adding a TD.

A Battle of the Birds
November 12th, 2010:
ATLANTA, Georgia -- The Falcons defended their home field yesterday against the tough Baltimore Ravens, sitting pretty atop the AFC North with a 7-2 record. The Falcons went into yesterday undefeated in the Georgia Dome this season, but they were facing by far their toughest opponent at home.
And after three quarters of domination, the Ravens looked like they would walk out of the dome with an easy win, as they led the Falcons 24-7 after three quarters. Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, and the rest of the usually explosive Atlanta offensive attack had been outwitted and roughed up by a Baltimore defense that was missing the face of the franchise Ray Lewis.
There is a reason the Falcons won the first four home games of their season, their passing attack was too much for most teams to handle, and they flexed their muscles in a desperate fourth-quarter comeback attempt that began with about seven minutes left in the game.
Still down by 17 points, Ryan and the Falcons receivers finally started hooking up on long routes and they drove down the field in less than two minutes. Ryan threw a lob to veteran wide receiver Brian Finneran, who caught it for a 21 yard pass, and the Falcons were down by just 10.
After a three and out by the Ravens offense, Atlanta drove back down the field like it was destiny for the game to come down to the final seconds. This time, Ryan found Tony Gonzalez wide open in the endzone for a short touchdown pass, giving the ball back to the Ravens with 3:12 left to play.
The Falcons would get the ball back with about a minute left, but could not find the magic on their final drive. The Baltimore defense stood strong and then knelt the ball just once to ice the game, their seventh win of the season.
The loss drops Atlanta to 5-4, but they retain second place in the NFC South behind the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons are on the road next week, as they travel west to St. Louis to battle the 6-2 Rams. Atlanta is 1-3 on the road this season, but coach Mike Smith hopes they can turn that around to get back on the winning track.

LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Pete Thomas threw 2 touchdowns as Colorado State beat Wyoming 17-13 in the Border War rivalry game on Saturday.
Colorado State captured win number ten on the season for the first ten win season since 2002.
Thomas threw for 221 yards on 15 of 31 passing. While he had help on the ground from Raymond Carter who rushed for 84 yards.
Neither team cold get much offense going as the cold weather took it's toll on them. "The ball had no give to it, and was as cold as a block of ice." Thomas said of the conditions.
CSU led 10-6 at halftime, however Wyoming came out and Tooley caught a 23 yard td pass from Crum midway through the 3rd. CSU responded on the first play of the 4th quarter with an 11 yard pass to backup FB Brown.
The Rams saw senior WR Tyson Liggett go down with a shoulder injury and not return for the remainder of the game. News is he will be out for upto a month, so he should be ready in time for their bowl game. FB Zac Pauga went out on the last play of the 3rd quarter with an ankle sprain. He will take practice lightly for the next few days but should be back to full strength by next weekend.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Something must have been put into the water at halftime in Fort Collins today, as Colorado State was struggling on offense and took a 13-10 lead going into half over BYU. But managed to score 28 unanswered points in the second half to win 41-10.
It looked like it was going to be 10-6 going into halftime for BYU until Rams QB Pete Thomas found Steele wide open along the sideline for a 55 yard touchdown in the final minute of the half.
CSU started the second half with a 74 yard run by Nwoke on first play. And kept applying the pressure for the entire quarter scoring two more touchdowns. One in the air to Liggett for 42 yards and Mosure ran one in from a yard out.
Thomas was 10 for 20, passing for 225 yards and 2 tds while throwing one interception.
RB John Mosure stepped up on his final home game to rush for 92 yards and two touchdowns. He had this to say after the game,"To be able to go out and give the fans such a great performance for my last game in the stadium. I couldn't hold back the tears after the game was over as the emotions just took ahold of me."
Eight different receivers caught the ball for CSU as Thomas spread the ball around to get everyone involved in the final home game of the season.
On defense Davis Burl collected player of the game after putting together a 6 tackle, 4 for a loss and 3 sack performance. However Senior LB Ricky Brewer was the one filled with emotion after the game,"I've watched these guys grow so much over the season, to think of what our record was last year, and now we have a chance to win 10 games. I'm left speechless, coach has done an amazing job keeping everyone happy and getting the entire team to buy in to the strategy every week."
Coach Gill commented after the game,"Lookout for Thomas in a few years, he's grown so much this season that with a strong offseason conditioning program, he could be a candidate for the draft."

In breaking news, TCU accepted a spot in the Big East Conference. This is great news for TCU, as they will be part of a conference with an automatic BCS bid. This will also be great news for the Big East as they will be gaining a power house. It is sad that the Louisville Cardinals are going to be leaving the league and joining the MWC.

Rebuilding the Buffalo Bills Week 1 RecapOrchard Park, NY- The 2011 NFL season got off to a quick start for the Buffalo Bills. The worst team in the NFL a year ago opened the season against the best a year ago in convincing fashion. With a 31-6 blowout of the New England Patriots, the long losing skid to the "Pats" is now history. The Buffalo Bills worked the ball effectively through the air with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing 4 touchdowns while the Bills defense held his counterpart Tom Brady to none.
"A very solid, all around effort tonight. That's how you win games. That's what a team is. We played well. We welcomed them into our building and sent them packing." Bills coach Chan Gailey said of the big 31-6 pounding on the Patriots.

REBUILDING THE BUFFALO BILLS Orchard Park, NY- For the Buffalo Bills 2010 was a season to forget. A dismal 3-13 campaign landed the Bills the first overall pick in the 2011 draft. The Bills used the pick on Penn State QB Alex Office, who at a small 5'9 but also a big 220 pound frame, should be able to show his pocket presence but also be able to duck out of the way of oncoming pass rushers. Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey is unsure if Office will be the teams starting quarterback come September. "It's just one of those things where you have to let it play itself out. We'll let them[Ryan Fitzpatrick] do battle and we'll determine who is the better fit for this offense" Gailey said after the teams' final walkthrough of the preseason. Ryan Fitzpatrick is seemingly the top choice for this season, giving Alex Office an opportunity for understudying the man they call "Fitz". Fitzpatrick had himself a decent 2010 throwing for 15 TD's and 2834 yards, however his 18 interceptions were a blemish to his campaign.Whoever it may be who gets the starting nod when the Bills open up the 2011 season at home against the defending AFC Champion New England Patriots on Thursday night, will have their hands full of Patriots pass rushers.

Miami Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby leads the celebration late in the fourth quarter of the Dolphins' 21-17 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Miami breaks losing streak with a 4th quarter miracle and a successful formula of a max-protection defense covering for an embarrassing 1st half.
KANSAS CITY -- In a routine that was becoming far too frequent, the Dolphins offense jogged from the field Sunday after multiply unsuccessful drives in the 1st half.
So many times already -- whether with a 3 and out, two interceptions, a fumble recovered that went for a touchdown (but was challenged and reversed) or a fourth-down stop -- Miami's defense bailed out its counterpart with a critical stop at a critical time. Now, the offense needed help once more.
``When you talk about adversity, you're usually talking about a couple of plays,'' coach Don Shula said. ``But this time, it was a must win. We were in an adverse situation the whole game.''
Could they really lose another game, especially with Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady leading what would have been a game-leading drive? The running back committee was starting to show some signs of fatigue, leading to a few moments of vulnerability.
``At that point,'' Shula said, ``I felt really confident in our defense but concerned with our offense.''
At this point, after a 21-17 win fueled by the inspirational performance of a very young secondary, it might be time for everyone else to start feeling the same. For the 1st time in 4 weeks, the Dolphins' defense has become the unexpected catalyst for Miami big win.
Despite a flawed performance on offense -- which included two pick 6's by Tom Brady and -- the defense still sent a shot that is likely to be heard by every one of its future opponents.
``We're a young group but growing fast,'' Clemons (FS) said. ``We want to get that mentality out there. We're not going to lay down for anybody. We're going to battle our asses off. Just because you get the ball on the 5-yard line, we're not going to let you score.''
Playoff Atmosphere
For the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs this was sudden death. You wouldn't expect to read about the Playoffs with 3 weeks left in the season but frankly with both teams sitting at 7-6, that's exactly what it was. Win or go home was the theme for this heavy weight fight in Kansas and early on it looked as if the Miami Dolphins were excepting the fact that they would miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season. The 1st two Dolphin possessions results in interceptions for touchdowns. The 1st half ended with a missed field goal attempt from 55 yards. Half Time score 14-3.
The Miami Dolphins dominated the time of possession with over 17 minutes and only 6 minutes for the Chiefs.
In the 3rd quarter, it was make or break time and the Fins could only squeeze a field goal while cutting the lead to 8 points. The 4th quarter miracle was orchestrated by Tom Brady, Brandon Marshall, and player of the game J. Davis (RB).
In the last significant drive for the Miami Dolphins, trailing in the 4th quarter James Davis broke a 47 yard run for the game-leading score. James Davis is a rookie running back that split carries with C.J. Spiller in Clemson. Apparently he wasn't as flashy as Spiller to get attention in the draft but after receiving a tip from a Dolphins undisclosed "source" the Miami Dolphins picked him up from Free Agency. Since then he's done nothing but secure his place on the Fins roster.
When Sunday ended, it didn't matter that Miami's defense carried the offense to victory. The Dolphins pulled out a win against a team that was battling for the wild card; against a team with heart and fight.
So a week after some figured the loss against the Patriots was the end, the Dolphins continued to build their case for legitimacy with a miracle in Kansas City.
Now, it's time to take a shot against the Eagles.
``This is a heck of a win for us right now,'' Shula said. ``We get to go home, regroup and get ready for the next ball game.''
