Read and understood.. however I would like something about triple options addressed.... Maybe a limit on how many times you can run it. I know Neither manning would ever run it but RG3 and cam would but not 10 times a game. Not limiting read option or qb runs since those are run a decent amount for some teams but the triple is hardly ever run in the league so it would be nice to have something. Idk just a suggestion.

What do you think is reasonable number per game? I don't know if you had an issue with someone doing it a bunch, but I had it in my custom pb and I limited myself to no more than 1 per half. I'm a little conservative so I'd guess 3 per game is reasonable number. I'm just spitballing here and I haven't talked to any of the other commissioners so nothing is set in stone. I haven't heard of an issue with this, but I haven't been around the whole time. Either way, it's a valid point and it's better to be proactive with this stuff than it is to be reactive.

Ok guys, here's your chance to get your voices heard. We're currently discussing penalties for rules violations so I figured it'd be good to hear you guys thoughts about some stuff. In particular, what type of penalties you guys prefer for certain violations as well alternative penalties that we haven't mentioned. A few things we're thinking of are:

For ingame violations such as atat padding and rb carries violations

-1 game player suspension
-4 game player suspension
-full season player suspension

For contract violations

-taking cap hit (cutting a player early and taking the cap penalty, signing him as a fa, then trying to resign him at the end of the season)
-???? (More ideas would be nice here)

For misc violations such as not vary playcalling

-user go on auto pilot for 1 or more games
-no confidence reset at beginning of the season
-????? (More ideas would be nice here)

Btw - it's not mentioned in the rules draft, but confidence will be reset in week 1 of the preseason every year

These are the ones that have been mentioned at one time or another and I just want to know how you guys feel about these potential penalties. Also, if you have some other suggestions we're open to those too. None of this stuff is set yet and some has just been mentioned in passing. I just figured you guys could give some needed feedback on this stuff.

Are we resetting everyone's confidence or just the team's below 50? I would recommend leaving those that have had good seasons with more confidence. For instance, we know the Patriots will be a top team every year in real life. In this case, resetting their confidence doesn't make much sense.

Also, auto pilot for a first offense seems major. That would seem fitting for major offenses. I would recommend player suspensions instead. I also like the no confidence resetting.

Resetting confidence only affects players under 50. Players 50 confidence and above keep what they have.

Also a penalty for not varying play calling(after multiple offenses) could be to take away the use of a custom pb.

Marc is correct about the confidence system... those over 50 will not affected. As far as the autopilot punishment, I actually agree with you finley. Autopilot shouldn't be a punishment unless the owner isn't around.

As far as taking away custom playbooks, that's a difficult punishment to enforce since some people do not use custom books. I think the punishments need to be consistent, and not everyone could be hurt by that one.

Player suspensions seem to be the best way to go most of the time. It could also be just as easy to say that if a punishment doesn't apply to a particular player, that we could do something like:

If play varying is bad on offense, your best skill position player on offense is suspended. This would be the same for Defense.

Just some things to consider. Thanks for the feedback!
