That sometimes happens because if you did not overload the side you are outside blitzing on. For me it works better with a 3-4 since the center is preoccupied with the NT then the Tackle has the pass rushing linebacker and the Guard has the DE then you blits with that linebacker just inside of the NT and DE. So 4 guys versus 3. If there is a back there you can now bring a slot corner or safety up and sit him on the line and come at them with him. No way the tackle will come out to get the you or the pass rushing linebacker leaving 2 guys on the blindside of the QB (if he is right handed).

Overloading seems to be the best way to blitz in the game. Unfortunately not the most realistic but I think it can be used in a more strategic way.

Yes quick release, The passing game is about timing route patterns and if that streak hasn't opened up in a 3 step or 7 step drop and youre facing against a star safety it wise to not force it in or else he will get an int, otherwise you have ot go to plan B, scramble and look for another option to throw to, or just keep stayin in the pocket or else you will just get sacked

Re: Blitzing is impossible

i feel you, kruza... just trying to help discuss in a way that will be helpful rather than counter productive (like i've seen happen with some 2k football games and with nba2k i think it was 2k3). lbz's suggestions are great. what i've always loved about this series is that learning how to stop something or do something well, you have to think about it like one would have to in real life. a lot of times people find "problems" but they aren't what people think they are and then VC "fixes" these "problems" but the same ones exist and a new one appears. I know you two know your stuff, so I wanted to get the convo about what's really goin on. it seems like a speed thing to me, but it seems there are some other things going on too.

Re: Blitzing is impossible

I just played Dunnelly and i thought he didnt know how to pressure the QB

Geez i cant even release my passes cause hes putting so much pressure on my QB

He ended up shutting me out, that never happened before, and i had like less than 100 yard passing and negative yard rushing.

I dont know what his complain is about the OL being too strong, i guess you wanted nano blitzes?

I was expecting to play someone who doesnt know how to pressure the QB and i found out he already knows how.

Now you played him but when he talks about getting after the QB he's reflecting on my and his games. He and I play alot. We just finished a game, 0 sacks for the both of us

Maybe because you know how to counter his D? His record is 17-2 lol, his record looks like he knows how to pressure the QB except you lol.

it was interesting cause i just beat this guy who was ranked 38 before i played him and totally shuts me out.

It was difficult to counter his D.

I think you guys get 0 sacks because you know how to counter each others blitzes.

Re: Blitzing is impossible

nah i dont want nano blitzes. i barely know what that is besides it came from madden. I blitz a couple times manually in our game. I just want the Defensive AI to do what I do, rather than having it obvious that I blitz. That + cries of "CHEESAH!" whenever I control a blitzer.
btw me and lbz just finished another game, i had 4 sacks this time .
