It really is an awesome game that doesn't get enough credit. I would play this game without the legends.

No, NFL Blitz (the original) is and always will be the most realistic football game ever.

j/k, as others have said, the only game that can challenge APF is 2k5, which I think is SLIGHTLY better in the gameplay department. APF is a step up in other areas like animations, but 2k5 has a small lead in the gameplay department (better coverage and I think that 2k5 has a little bit better OL/DL interaction in that having great O-linemen actually counts for something unlike APF where a pick spent on an O-lineman was a wasted pick).

I think so...BUT!..It does seem a little arcadey at this point in the game......They need to(if they ever make another game) implement a better running back momentum system(like Madden), allow greater control of the WR when ball in air(also like Madden) and tweak CPU A.I. more for realism(not like Madden!...huh huh)

  • Best feel of "weight" to players
  • Best Blocking system
  • Best animations by far
  • Best feel of playing QB
  • Best juke system, EA is twitch fest
  • Online Leagues need I say more
  • Great customize options
  • HUGE play books (6500+ plays)
  • Best football game out

The one thing that bothers me about this game is that when you assign a DB to a certain receiver, and then that receiver goes in motion, the DB never seems to follow. I'm sure that's been said around here before. But the game, as outlined just above, does many, many things well.

Yea, the same thing happens when you switch into different defensive shells. Really can cause some major miss cues
