I don't think so. The sales (or lack thereof) of APF is proof enough of that.

Very true! In fact I was talking to a lot of my freinds who are football fans and they didn't know about this game until I told them. They don't visit these forums and they only go buy games when NCAA and Madden come out, so they have no clue about BB.

i thinkg gamespot and ign hold the fate of this game in their hands if its a bad review it will prob fail. the box it self lends the idea of a robot football game without really knowing anything about the game

But, that was three years ago. There have been three more bad Madden games since APF 2K8 which could push more players to Backbreaker. My worry about getting enough sales is the lack of advertising we have seen so far. I'm sure there are still a ton of people who have no idea this game is even in production because the company hasn't been spreading the word. So far, their marketing effort has been abysmal.

Gosh talk about timing. The demo is coming out way to close the game release date. Bad marketing. Demo should come out atleast a few weeks in advance of the game release date to give fans a chance to get use to the game. But this demo is better then no demo at all I guess.

Well i'd rather have bad marketing/good game then great marketing/bad game. You know who i'm talking about.

But as with any game I usually know enough based on other information whether I'm going to purchase the game or not (gameplay vids, interviews, etc.). If Red Dead Redemption released a crappy demo it wouldn't sway me from purchasing it at this point. I'm set on getting Backbreaker within the first few days of it releasing unless it really just falls completely flat
Definitely going to play the demo, no doubt about it. I'll have to wait for the actual purchase though because, gotta see gameplay vids, reviews(apex, versus, moody, etc), OSer's thoughts and opinions about the game. This would be a first day purchase but, I'm to skeptical.

Hell if BB sucks I might just buy it for tackle if It's really addicting.

Doesn't look like a demo is coming this week. Oh well.
