I would not want to pitch against that lineup. Dear lord. Just catching up on this but, yikes Manny and Pujols *shudders*. As if Manny paired with Ortiz wasn't scary enough..

Brewers Steam Roll Cards; LaRussa Embarrassed Of Effort

The St. Louis Cardinals suffered perhaps their most embarrassing loss of the season thus far as the Milwaukee Brewers dismantled the Redbirds by a score of 10-2.

Ryan Braun and Prince Feilder would each go 3-5 while Braun would collect 5 RBI's on the afternoon.

Dave Bush was fantastic going 3-5 at the plate with a double and an RBI while also throwing 8 innings, allowing 6 hits while fanning 8 Cardinals.

The Cardinals 1-3 hitters were 6-8 on the day while the rest of the lineup was 2-21.

Manny Ramirez came into the contest hitting .464 in the month of May, but only managed an RBI on a sac fly while going 0-3 on the day. Albert Pujols was 2-4 with an RBI as well.

Kyle Lohse picked up his second loss of the season while throwing 4 2/3 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs, while walking one and fanning 3.

21 of St. Louis' last 22 hits have been singles.

Cards Aquire Juan Cruz; Release Trever Miller

The St. Louis Cardinals announced this evening that the club has signed relief pitcher Juan Cruz to a 2 year deal worth 6 million dollars.

The 29 year old Cruz is coming off a solid season in which he was 4-0 with a 2.61 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 51 innings, allowing just 34 hits. In the last two seasons combined, Cruz has fanned 158 in a combined 112.2 innings of work.

To make room for the phenomenal reliever, the Cards released Trevor Miller who in 10 games for the Cards, compiled an ERA of 7.98 and 0-1 record, allowing 22 hits in 14.2 innings of work.

"We feel really good about this move. Our bullpen has been shaky all season long and this in one of the best relievers in the game", said Tony LaRussa in a press conference this evening at Busch Stadium.

Pittsburgh claimed Miller shortly after he was released to waivers.

Brewers Sweep Cards With Tight Victory In Pitchers Dual

The lone run of the ballgame between the Cards and Brewers was scored in the top of the 9th inning on a Prince Fielder RBI double off Todd Wellemeyer.

Wellemeyer was fantastic going 9 full innings, allowing 7 hits while fanning 6 to pick up the rare complete game loss.

Manny Parra was outstanding tonight, throwing 8 1/3 innings, allowing just 3 hits while fanning 8, picking up his 1st win on the campaign.

The Cards hit just .246 in the series and are preparing for a 3 game series with Chicago who has struggled to a 14-24 start.

Cards Right The Ship; Homer Thrice In Win Over Cubs

A couple St. Louis homeruns in the 1st inning set the tone as Ryan Ludwick would hit just his 5th homerun of the season before Manny Ramirez would tag his 12th a few short minutes later.

The Cardinals would get one hit from every player in the lineup except for Troy Glaus who would go 2-3 with his 5th homerun, while driving in 2 runs.

Aramis Ramirez and Derrick Lee would each go 2-4 as they would combine for 4 of the Cubs 5 hits on the day.

Adam Wainwright was steller, throwing 6 1/3 innings, allowing 4 hits while fanning 8 on the day to move to 3-2 on the season with a 2.84 ERA.

Juan Cruz made his St. Louis debut and threw 2 2/3 innings, only allowing one hit and fanning just one.

"It felt great to be playing baseball again. I'm glad to be here in St. Louis and I'm looking forward to winning a lot of games", said Cruz regarding his recent signing with the Cards.
