Ishikawa's 3 triples lead Giants over Padres  Randy Winn watches his 2-run bomb sail into the night Giants- 7 Padres- 3 W- Randy Johnson 1-1 L- Josh Geer 1-1 San Francisco- 34,000 fans showed up today to watchthe Giants break their 3 game losing streak today, and they did it in a convincing manner. The Giants powered their way to victory on Randy Winn's 2-run homer (2), and Travis Ishikawa's 3 triples, all into triples alley, also the first triples of his career. Randy Johnson also pitched masterfully going 6.1 while only giving up 3 earned. Josh Greer, on the other hand, was not as fortunate going only 3 innings while giving up 5 earned runs. Justin Miller, Bob Howry and Sergio Romo then promptly slammed the door for the win.

Bumgarner watch #1  Las Vegas- San Fransisco Giants top SP prospect Madison Bumgarner struggled immensely today against the Las Vegas 51's. The young lefty only went 3 and two thirds after getting slammed early on. It seemed almost every batter worked a 3 ball count against him. His out pitches were just not working as his curveball was not garnering enough swings and misses. He just could not locate his fastball at all either. His slider is going to need a few more inches of break before he is MLB ready, but the velocity is there. Bumgarner almost made it 4 innings, but gave up a monster 3 run homer to push his ER total to 8 on the night. All in all a terrible night for the youngster, but I'll still be looking forward to his next start.
