I like Nieto! Looks like your regretting Meadows, but you might be rewarded soon!

Enjoying this Royals. Read through both recently. Hope things turn around for the team. Got some young talent, and Lester looks like he's just beasting on teams when ever he takes the rubber.

Not drafting Nieto has turned out to be a minor blunder but that's only due to the fact that Meadows is still in Class A. We're going to try to get Meadows some ABs in AA but he'll probably head back to A ball. Meadows contact ratings aren't exactly ready for AA much like Adalberto Mondesi who is holed up as well in Class A because of poor contact and power ratings.

Long time, no see dude! This season has gone far from planned. The offense has turned cold and if it wasn't for a strong effort by our starters, especially Lester, we'd probably be in last place. Our goal is to try to salvage whatever we can from the first half and hopefully tear up the 2nd half.

Re: The McGovern Manifesto- Restoration, Reformation and Retaliation

And we're right back to the drawing board...

Somehow, some way, the offense has been tearing it up but that's primarily attributed to Lorenzo Cain, Billy Butler and Alex Gordon. Hosmer and Alcides Escobar have been mediocre to this point and Salvador Perez has continued to hit for a decent average. I wish I could sit here and tell you that everything's fine and dandy here but I'd be lying. At this point, Escobar and Hosmer could be next in line for demotions...

Wait, isn't the pitching supposed to be the strong point? Let me rephrase that... The Starting Rotation has been the strong point. The bullpen has been awful, just awful. We've used a total of 15 different pitchers out of the bullpen this season. We've gone through 4 different closers alone. This bullpen is a shadow of what it was in 2012. We've got Aaron Crow and Tim Collins down in AAA...

We're in a mess right now my friends.

But hey, we're playing Cleveland so something good/interesting is bound to happen.

I was right...

With the first pitch of the game, Carlos Carrasco tried to throw a 90 MPH fastball in Lorenzo Cain's leg area. I don't really know how to explain this... Cleveland always wants trouble. I don't think there's been a game this year where they haven't hit one of our players.

The very least they could do is have some discretion as to who they hit. Or they could at least take into account the situation.

In retaliation, we went ahead and hit their catcher Lou Marson. At least we do it in a situation where it doesn't affect the outcome of the game. Cleveland does the exact opposite, they'll have something like a one run lead late in the game and they'll just clock the tying run...

#TheClevelandWay

Again, we gave Jake Odorizzi the ball and he f'd it up in the 5th inning. I'm starting to get really, really tired of him letting up 5+ earned runs in a short around of work. He's one of McGovern's favorites so we'll let it fly for now but with the minor league signing of Hiroki Kuroda, his days on the big league roster could be numbered.

Aside from Odo's hiccups, David Lough has been the story since stepping in for Domonic Brown. Lough is hitting out of the three hole because, 1. Lorenzo Cain and Alcides Escobar don't get on base enough and 2. Lough is fast and puts the ball in play... a lot.

We'll keep him there for the forseeable future and if Lough keeps this up, Chris Denorfia could be out of a job or Domonic Brown could be in a platoon situation. It's gonna be real interesting down the road my friends.

How is the thing with the Twins fair? To bad you can't bean the pitched upside the head in A.L. Otherwise. If you could. Trade for that Niese guy if all possible. Unless your giving up an arm and a leg. What's the record now?

Re: The McGovern Manifesto- Restoration, Reformation and Retaliation

We probably better take some time away from this 2014 blunder and look towards the future as we go through the tedious task that is the 2014 First Year Player Draft or according to Bud Selig: The 2000 First Year Player Draft. Last season, we held the 8th overall pick and selected Austin Meadows with that pick. This season, we're at 22nd overall and we also hold 2 picks in the supplemental round for the loss of Jeff Francoeur and Ervin Santana.

Remember, this is also George McGovern's first draft so hopefully he doesn't just punt it.

Bravo McGovern... Bravo

We went heavy with college players here to fuel our competitive teams that we plan on fielding for the next decade hopefully. We took quite a few high school players in last years draft so we needed to draft talent that will move to the high minors quickly and give us impact players to choose from should we need them. That's a lesson that we've drawn from this season and hopefully, we learned our lesson.

Dang McGovern must like basketball lol. First John Wall (when he was with the padres) and then Kevin Durant?

Yeah... it's too bad we had to do this in the American League. They shouldn't have been able to get away with that.

That's not a bad idea; going after Neise because he could eat some innings.

We're at 27-25... 5 outta the wildcard and about 10 behind the Tigers.

Those were both pure coincidence haha. I have no idea how those names get put in there. The Kevin Durant one was especially a surprise.
