Randal Grichuk continues to rake from the two-hole in Charlie Montoyo's lineup, putting up all-star caliber numbers for the second straight season while leading the team in both home runs and RBIs. Rookie sensation Bo Bichette has cooled down a little, but has continued to contribute nicely both defensively and offensively for the Blue Jays.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. continues to struggle but is improving as he looks to adjust to MLB pitching now that pitching staffs are aware of what his strengths and weaknesses are.

Up Next: Blue Jays (54-36) @ Rays (39-51)

The Blue Jays look to wrap up the first half of the 2020 regular season with sole possession of first place in the American League East with a win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Marcus Stroman (7-5, 4.20 ERA) will make his 19th start of the season as the Blue Jays aim to sweep the Rays on the road at Tropicana Field. Blake Snell (6-8, 3.64 ERA) has pitched well but receive no run support all season, and will be looking to put an end to the Jays' current win streak.

Re: Canada's Team | Toronto Blue Jays (MLB The Show)

Blue Jays Bolster Bullpen, Acquire Minter From Braves

Toronto, ON -- The Toronto Blue Jays began gearing up for their playoff push by solidifying their bullpen before the start of the second half, acquiring reliever A.J. Minter from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for reliever James Pazos, infielder Samad Taylor and outfielder Jonathan Davis.

Minter, 26, has four years of control left and has been a phenomenal weapon out of the bullpen for Brian Snitker and the Atlanta Braves this season, posting a 1.55 ERA out of the closer's role. He's expected to be used in high leverage situations for Charlie Montoyo, adding a left handed arm to a bullpen corpse that has been shaky at times this season.

Pazos will see his time in Toronto come to an end after struggling to adjust to the American League. The former Phillie was acquired during the offseason after a strong season in Philly but was unable to duplicate his success north of the border. While the potential is there, Pazos will surely look forward to a return to the more pitcher friendly National League.

Both Jonathan Davis and Samad Taylor have been stashed in the minors for the Blue Jays, and with no real path to the big leagues available for either of them, it made sense for the Blue Jays to move on.

The Blue Jays begin the second half of the regular season at home tomorrow against the New York Yankees, who trail the Jays by just 0.5 games for the first place spot in the American League East. Marcus Stroman (7-5, 4.22 ERA) will hope that some rest during the all star break did him good as he takes on a tough New York lineup. Masahiro Tanaka (7-4, 2.30 ERA) made an appearance in the all star game for the American League team and will look to continue his spectacular season.
