Mariners Use Huge Second Inning Again to Get Past A's

Seattle - For the second straight night, the Mariners used a huge second inning to get a lead that the A's could not come back from. The eight run inning was capped by Mitch Haniger's 14th home run of the season, a three run shot, and that was enough for Matt Brash, who wasn't his normal sharp self, to get the victory for the M's 9-4. The loss of Oakland was their 41st, in their first 50 games putting them well on pace for one of the worst records in Major League history. The Mariners go for the sweep tomorrow when they send Robbie Ray (7-0, 2.08 ERA) to the mound to face Oakland ace Frankie Montas (2-8, 3.92 ERA).

Re: Sea Us Rise: A Seattle Mariners Franchise (The Show '22)

Montas, A's Dominate Mariners as Ray Suffers First Loss

Seattle - Robbie Ray suffered his first loss as a Mariner, as Frankie Montas was dominant for Oakland in what turned out to be a lopsided 12-2 win for the A's on Wednesday afternoon. Ray allowed four runs while lasting just 4.2 innings on the mound, which was all the cushion Montas would need. The A's would make sure to avoid getting swept as they busted it open late on the Mariners bullpen opening up a 12-0 lead late that ensured the outcome. Seattle will get a home day off tomorrow before getting back to work on Friday. It will be Logan Gilbert (2-4, 2.83 ERA) taking the mound for the M's against Framber Valdez (3-1, 3.22 ERA).

Re: Sea Us Rise: A Seattle Mariners Franchise (The Show '22)

Mariners Blast Four Home Runs in Win Over Astros

Seattle - The Mariners got to Framber Valdez for a total of four home runs, knocking the Astros starter out early, and setting the stage for Logan Gilbert to cruise to his third win of the season. Gilbert shut down the Astros for seven strong innings, giving up just one run, which was plenty for the Mariners, as they were hitting the long ball all over T-Mobile Park on Friday night. The win was boosted by the news of Adam Frazier being activated off the IL. He will be back in the lineup tomorrow. On top of Frazier's return to the lineup, Rookie George Kirby is set to make his major league debut for the Mariners on Saturday. He will face off against Luis Garcia (3-2, 2.35 ERA).

Mariners Fall in Kirby's Debut

Seattle - George Kirby pitched five solid innings in his Mariner debut, but could not make it past the sixth as he was chased out of the game following a Jose Altuve two run double. That was enough cushion for the Astros as Seattle could not string together enough of their ten hits on the night as the fell 5-1 to Houston. Kirby ended up saddled with the loss after being charged with three earned runs in his five plus innings of work. The two teams will have the rubber match tomorrow afternoon with Chris Flexen (5-2, 3.41 ERA) taking the hill against Cristian Javier (1-1, 3.77 ERA).

Re: Sea Us Rise: A Seattle Mariners Franchise (The Show '22)

Haniger Blasts Two Homers as Mariners Take Series

Seattle - Mitch Haniger had a huge day at the plate blasting two home runs and collecting four RBIs as the Mariners got a 6-2 win to take the series at home from the Houston Astros. The run support was more than enough for Chris Flexen who turned in another impressive outing going eight innings, giving up just the two runs. Ty France, and Jesse Winker homered for the M's as well as all six of their runs came from the long ball. Seattle gets a travel day tomorrow as they head across the country to begin a series on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles. Scheduled to start that one is Matt Brash (6-2, 2.50 ERA) as he will face off against John Means (4-4, 2.82 ERA).

Mariners Drop Opener in Baltimore

Baltimore - Julio Rodriguez smacked his ninth homer of the season, but that was pretty much all the offense Seattle could muster as John Means shut down the M's for a 3-2 win. Matt Brash had a solid outing for the Mariners going 5.2 innings but suffered his second straight losing decision. Seattle will look to bounce back tomorrow with their ace Robbie Ray (7-1, 2.45 ERA) taking the mound to face Jordan Lyles (1-5, 4.31 ERA).

Re: Sea Us Rise: A Seattle Mariners Franchise (The Show '22)

Mariners Lose Second Straight as Orioles Walk it Off

Baltimore - The Mariners rallied from an early deficit on Wednesday night only to ultimately fall short as the Orioles got a walk off win in the bottom of the ninth over Seattle 5-4. Robbie Ray had a shaky third inning in this one and ultimately could only go 4.1 innings in this one. He was let off the hook for the loss however as Seattle rallied late to tie the game in the eighth inning thanks to a Mitch Haniger RBI single, but Baltimore got their lead off man on in the ninth, and Jahmai Jones got a key stolen base after pinch running for Rougned Odor. Which set up the theatrics from Terrin Vavra for the walk-off hit. Seattle will look to avoid the sweep tomorrow when they send Logan Gilbert (3-4, 2.67 ERA) to the mound to face Keegan Akin (0-2, 6.96 ERA).
