Phillies Rally in Ninth to Take Series Opener

Seattle - The Philadelphia Phillies cracked the code on the Mariners bullpen. With Diego Castillo getting the night off Paul Sewald came in to close it out. Unfortunately it was another blown save for the veteran reliever, and the Phillies rallied for two runs to take the lead over Seattle, and hold on for a 5-4 win. Seattle will try for better luck tomorrow when they send Logan Gilbert to the mound to face Aaron Nola.

Nola, Phillies Hand Mariners Second Straight Defeat

Aaron Nola shut down the Mariners on Tuesday

Seattle - Aaron Nola had it working against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night. The veteran mowed down Seattle for seven and a third innings, striking out ten as the Phillies cruised to a 7-0 win at T-Mobile Park. It's the first back to back losses since the Mariners were swept by Texas back on April 21st. The Marines have been 15-4 since that point, and have taken control of the AL West with a 6.5 game lead after the night's results. The Mariners will look to avoid another sweep tomorrow afternoon when Marco Gonzales (2-1, 6.03 ERA) takes on Ranger Suárez (2-1, 2.38 ERA).

Mariners Salvage Series Finale

Seattle - Julio Rodriguez, and Mitch Haniger both homered, and the Mariners got an outstanding start from Marco Gonzales as they were able to salvage the final game of a three game series against the Philadelphia Phillies, and avoid a sweep with a 4-1 victory. Seattle will get a day off before hitting the road for a ten day east coast trip that starts Friday in New York against the Mets. It will be Chris Flexen (4-2, 2.86 ERA) taking the mound opposite Carlos Carrasco (3-2, 4.37 ERA).

Mets Walk Off Mariners

New York - The Mariners ten game road trip got off to a not so great start as the New York Mets rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to defeat Seattle 6-5. Dominic Smith was the hero for New York as he came through with a pinch hit walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. The two teams are back at it tomorrow with Matt Brash (4-1, 1.99 ERA) slated to face Max Scherzer (3-2, 2.23 ERA).

Brash Dominates Again as Mariners Shut Out Mets

New York - Mariners rookie Matt Brash continued his dominace to start his career. Going seven shut out innings, and only allowing two hits, as the Mariners evened up their series with the New York Mets with an 8-0 shut out. The Mariners feasted on the Mets bullpen after starter Max Scherzer had to leave the game in the fifth with an injury. Mitch Haniger came through with a three run double that broke open the scoring, and gave Seattle all the cushion they would need in this one. The rubber match of the three game series is tomorrow. It will be Robbie Ray (5-0, 2.19 ERA) taking on Chris Bassitt (3-3, 3.77 ERA).

Ray Dominates Mets as Mariners Take Series

Ty France hits a solo HR against the Mets

New York - Robbie Ray was in his Cy Young form on Sunday afternoon. The Mariners ace went 8 1/3 innings before he was finally touched up by the Mets, losing the shut out, but still securing the win as Diego Castillo got the save in a 3-2 win. Ty France and Abraham Toro did the damage for the Mariners with solo home runs, and another RBI single for France proved to be the difference. The Mariners will look to make it three in a row tomorrow when Logan Gilbert (1-3, 3.11 ERA) takes the mound to face Alek Manoah (2-4, 3.97) as the Mariners begin a three game set in Toronto.

Re: Sea Us Rise: A Seattle Mariners Franchise (The Show '22)

Gilbert Mows Down Jays as Mariners Win 3-0

Toronto - Logan Gilbert turned in the start of his career on Monday. The young hurler threw nine shutout innings allowing just three hits while striking out a career high thirteen Blue Jay hitters as the Mariners opened their three game series with a 3-0 victory. The Mariners did their damage in the fifth inning with back to back RBI doubles from Sam Haggerty, and Luis Torrens. That was more than enough to support Logan Gilbert who was nearly unhittable on the night. The two teams are back in action tomorrow with Marco Gonzales (3-1, 5.28 ERA) taking on José Berríos (3-3, 2.44 ERA).
