Haha! Just saw it. I'm waiting for OSU or Miami to open up, or else I'll likely stay at UCF. I started with the 2008 rosters, so Calipari is still at Memphis which will hopefully be a great rivalry.

Pretty cool. C-USA could become pretty powerful with both of you in there.

vs.
Portland Pilots (10-5) vs. San Francisco (15-3)
War Memorial Gymnasium
San Francisco, CA
January 12th, 2019

The San Francisco Dons (15-3, 1-0 WCC) opened up conference play this evening with a nine-point victory over the Portland Pilots (10-5, 0-1 WCC). The Dons jumped way ahead early on and led by 17 points at halftime. However, just like in their last game against UCF, the Dons blew a seemingly-insurmountable second half lead and allowed the Pilots to capture the lead late in the game.

Fortunately for the Dons, this time things turned out differently. Owen Kole's offensive prowess stymied the Portland run and, after allowing the Pilots to gain a one-point advantage with just over three minutes remaining in regulation, the Dons rallied back and won by a comfortable nine-point margin.

The Dons were led by Owen Kole, who posted one of his best performances of the season in one of the Dons' most important games. Kole totaled 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists tonight as he dominated on the low block scoring the basketball and grabbing huge boards.

This game was sloppy on both ends of the floor. The Dons committed 18 turnovers, 12 of which occurred in the second half and, in effect, let Portland back into the game, while the Pilots turned the ball over 21 times.

With the win, the Dons stopped their recent skid, having lost three of their last four games. And most importantly, the Dons are now 1-0 in conference play.

Santa Clara (5-10) vs. San Francisco (16-3)
War Memorial Gymnasium
San Francisco, CA
January 14th, 2019

The San Francisco Dons (16-3, 2-0 WCC) improved to 2-0 in West Coast Conference play this Monday evening as they defeated the Santa Clara Broncos (5-10, 0-2 WCC) 84-77 to improve to 16-3 on the season.

The Dons held a five-point halftime advantage, but blew it open in the second half, leading by as many as 15 points. The Broncos made a run in the final minutes to close to within 7 points as Matt Owen and Owen Kole combined to only hit 3-of-6 of their free throws in the final minute while the Broncos hit a pair of threes, but in the end the Dons still came away with the victory.

Oliver Hudson led all scorers with 24 points and 4 rebounds. His 24 points is a new career-high. Hudson hit four three-pointers, several of which occurred when the Dons were blowing it open in the second half. Owen Kole also topped the 20-point barrier as he ended with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

The Dons improve to 2-0 in WCC play and will take on the Pepperdine Waves on Saturday.

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)

Nice way to bounce back from that little 3 game skid with back to back wins. Its always nice to have two of your best players put up twenty a piece as well.

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)

Just got back into town and caught up.

That is the craziest Top-25 I have seen in a long time. No UNC, No Duke, No Kansas.

Lots of Mid-Majors making some noise and how about Colorado State undefeated. I can't remember a legacy in which I saw them good.

Bet you are happy to see Princeton playing well.

What's up with the Pac-10 only USC in the Top-25. How is the rest of the league doing?

Yep, there's lots of new powerhouses out there, plus the A-10 has emerged as a dominant conference as it has done in every CH 2K game (at least in this generation of games).

They're an 88 OVR, which puts them on par with me as far as their overall team rating goes. However they just lost 71-68 against Air Force in Colorado Springs, so now they're 12-1.

Indeed. They've won the Ivy League the last two years and they're doing well again this year. In fact, they may be in a position to finish the regular season with only a couple losses, which would be less losses than I ever had during my tenure there.

Three Pac-10 teams are ranked now in the latest top 25 poll (#21 Oregon, #24 UCLA, and #25 Stanford).

Here are the Pac-10 Standings, if you are interested:

1. #21 Oregon 12-2 (4-0)
2. Washington State 13-4 (3-1) - I beat them 76-41.
3. USC 11-4 (2-1)
4. Washington 11-5 (2-2)
5. Arizona 11-4 (2-2)
6. #25 Stanford 11-4 (2-2)
7. #24 UCLA 12-4 (1-2) - I lost to them 79-72.
8. Oregon State 12-4 (1-2)
9. California 9-8 (1-3) - I lost to them 73-52.
10. Arizona State 7-9 (0-3)

vs.
San Francisco (17-3) vs. Pepperdine (11-8)
Firestone Fieldhouse
Malibu, CA
January 19th, 2019

The San Francisco Dons (17-3, 3-0 WCC) kept their undefeated conference record alive as they knocked off the Pepperdine Waves (11-8, 1-1 WCC) 104-95 in a high-scoring affair. The Waves were the pick to finish in the runner-up position behind the Dons in the conference this preseason, so this serves as a big win for the Dons' Title hopes.

This game was high-scoring, sloppy, and very fast-paced. The Dons broke the century mark, scoring 104 points. The Waves were not far from 100 points as they ended with 95. The two teams combined for 150 shot attempts, 59 three-point attempts, 50 free throw attempts, 40 assists, and 31 turnovers. The Dons shot a startling 41 three-pointers in this game and hit 19 of them, which was a key reason why they won this game.

Jason Redick led the three-point barrage for the Dons as he shot 7-for-15 from downtown on his way to scoring 29 points, just one short of his career-high of 30 points. Freshman guard Lawrence Doumbouya did set a new career mark for points scored as he scored 20 points in this one, all of which came in the second half. He went 6-for-9 from three-point range and helped the Dons recover from an eight-point early second half deficit to come back and win the game.

Owen Kole also had a nice game with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks, but he fouled out in the closing minutes of the game.

The Dons have tomorrow off before taking on the Loyola Marymount Lions on Monday evening.
