Re: Coaching Legacy of Shawn Seward - (NCAA BB 09)

Team to Beat?
UALR Sun Belt Champs?

Monroe, LA (AP): What seemed to be the game for the Warhawks to bounce back into the picture, ended up in a disaster. Coach Seward's Trojans have not seemed to be easy on their Conference foes as they defeat the Warhawks 77-53. UALR defeated Arkansas State by 15 points, and tonight beat the Warhawks by 24. Is this just the beginning for the Trojans?

It looked good at first for UL Monroe, but the Trojans threw it back at them. Free throws really helped the Trojans tonight shooting 12 for 13 at the charity stripe. At the post-game news conference, Coach Seward explained to the media about the team's hard work and passion for the game.

"If you came to one of our practices, you would see the team work and effort these kids give day in and day out. They will make great NBA players one day. They don't know what its like to miss a day of practice. None of them have gotten in trouble with their grades or team rules. This team is disciplined and wants to play the game of basketball. I couldn't ask for a better team.

As for tonight's game, I'm happy we won another conference game. We seem to have gotten back into rhythm since losing the two games to Wright State and Northern Illinois. I really do think the win over Memphis sparked this team into a fired up team that is willing to give up anything to win ball games."

The Trojans play Western Kentucky on the road on January 3rd. Be sure to come by and watch the Trojans aim for their 3rd consecutive conference win.

Coach Seward and the Trojans improve their record to 11-2 (2-0)

Re: Coaching Legacy of Shawn Seward - (NCAA BB 09)

Ouch!
Horrible Shooting Curses WKU

Bowling Green, KY (AP): Western Kentucky experience something they haven't all year long, horrible shooting. While UALR was making shots, WKU was missing them. The one thing that contributed to the horrible shooting was missed second chance opportunities. WKU dominated in the rebounding game, but could not get anything done off of them.

UALR knew what they had to do to get the job done in Kentucky. They executed well and made sure the get the open look before shooting, something that WKU did not do. The Hilltoppers didn't top this hill and the Trojans walk out with the victory 74-63.

"WKU was a great team, but I think our defense gave them problems shooting the ball. WKU was more interested in throwing down the three ball then getting it to the low block. We had them stopped all night and that is something unusual for them. WKU is going to be great in the conference but they need to get the low block and stop worrying about the outside shot unless its an open look."

The Trojans will play North Texas on January 8th. They also improve their record to 12-2 (3-0).

Re: Coaching Legacy of Shawn Seward - (NCAA BB 09)

Overtime!
Mean Green Comes Up Short in Overtime

Little Rock, AR (AP): The last time the Trojans was in an overtime game it was against Pepperdine where UALR won 101-100. Similar story here, but a bigger margin of victory. The Trojans was sitting pretty at halftime when they was leading 36-29, but North Texas had the heart just like UALR and fought back to tie the game back at 73-73 to send it to overtime.

In overtime, North Texas took an early 80-73 lead but UALR shot it down and went on a 16-0 run getting the 89-80 lead. North Texas would drain one more three but couldn't do anything after that and the Trojans earns a victory at home 89-83 in overtime.

"Overtime games is what makes a coach. You need to be alert more and you can't let fatigue get to you. Same for the kids, if they go out tired, they're gonna suffer."

The Trojans improve their record to 13-2 (4-0). They play the 2nd place Sun Belt team, New Orleans, on January 10th.

Re: Coaching Legacy of Shawn Seward - (NCAA BB 09)

Congrats on the huge win at Memphis!

In terms of what you could do to make it better, I'll agree with Coach Frizzel. Just update what you feel necessary and don't slave over it and bore yourself of doing the write-ups.

Nice win streak you got going and yes congrats on the big win over Memphis...

I like your writeup's easy to read and nice layout.

Based off your avatar I would assume you would hope to one day being running the Razorbacks program is that your hopes?? I play 2k8, so I don't know much about NCAA 09, is there a coaching ladder in which you work your way up to power programs?

Re: Coaching Legacy of Shawn Seward - (NCAA BB 09)

yeah you get offers from schools and you can get fired the whole 9 yards. I wish i had 2k8 as I like the 2k series better than EA. If i ever get it, i'll restart legacy on that.
