Jordan's 36 guide Bulls past Timberwolves

CHICAGO -- Playing the Minnesota Timberwolves didn't exactly bringing out the best in the Chicago Bulls.

But thanks to Michael Jordan they still won the game.

Jordan had 36 points, 15 in the 4th quarter, as the Bulls held off the pesky Minnesota Timberwolves for a 95-87 win on Saturday night.

After spotting Minnesota a 7-0 lead to start the game, Chicago quickly recovered to take the lead. While the T'Wolves would never lead again, they never let the Bulls run away with the game.

"It could be," Chicago coach Phil Jackson replied when asked if his team was playing down to the level of its competition. "Our offense was pretty stagnant tonight. We were trying to find a combination out there that would give us better spacing."

"But we held a team under 100 points. We limited our turnovers to 8, which is good," Jackson said, looking at the bright side.

"It's only November, but we can play a lot better," Jordan added.

Tom Gugliotta had 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead Minnesota. Nineteen year old rookie Kevin Garnett showed some flashes, that should leave T'Wolves with high hopes, he finished the game with 10 points in 25 minutes.

Another Minnesota bright spot game from former Slam Dunk Champion Isaiah Rider. After nearly turning the ball over Rider grabbed the loose ball with a step on Jordan and proceeded to throw down a town handed slam just before the shot clock expired.

"The guys are going to go out there and fight and scrap. I know that," Minnesota coach Bill Blair said. "We've just got to go out there and play a style of ball that will fit this team and stick with it. I don't think that right now, we are able to do that."

Having won 4 straight games Chicago will close out their home-stand with a visit from the Boston Celtics.

Re: Bull Run: A Season with the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls(NBA 2k13)

Role players crucial in Bulls win over Boston

CHICAGO -- Ron Harper drove to the basket for a one-handed dunk, Jud Buechler threw down a couple slams of his own and Steve Kerr hit two straight three pointers.

Without the contribution of the Bulls non-star players, Chicago would likely have lost to the Boston Celtics on Monday night.

Of course it was Michael Jordan who put the game away late, but Kerr and company kept the Bulls in the game when Boston threatened to take over in the 3rd quarter.

MJ finished with 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists as the Bulls beat the Celtics 109-102.

Greg Minor scored a team high 25 points and Dino Radja added 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Celtics who have lost 4 out of there last 5 games.

"You can't breathe for a second," Minor said. "Even though I would count them as one of the older groups, there's just a lot of leadership, a lot of minutes played, and a lot of basketball players. They're a good team."

The Bulls record now sits at 6-1 as they head out for their first real road trip of the season. First up will be the Charles Barkley and the Phoenix Suns who hold a 5-2 record so far this season.
