Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

'Big 3' boost Cavs past Pacers 121-95
INDIANAPOLIS -- Although they are both in the Central Division the Cleveland Cavaliers had not faced the Indiana Pacers since a 108-94 loss on November 16th.

The timing worked just fine for the Cavs.

LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love did their usual work.

Irving finished with 29 points and 5 assists. James had 19 points, 10 assists and 5 rebounds, and Love had 19 points and 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Cleveland jumped on the Pacers early leading 29-18 after the first quarter and led by double figures for the majority of the game.

"At the start of the game, you can't come out not focused and ready to go as we did," Pacers coach Nate McMillan said. "We kind of lost our composure and they took advantage."

Paul George led Indiana with 23 points and Thaddeus Young added 20.

The Cavs three point shooting proved to the margin as they hit 16 of 33 attempts.

"They spread the floor, they spread us out -- our weak side was terrible. It's the worst it's been in a long time," George said when asked about the Pacers' defense.

Cleveland also hit all 23 of their free throw attempts.

Myles Turner has 17 points and nine rebounds. The Pacers lost at home to Cleveland for only the second time since 2010-11.

Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

Cavs make easy work of Thunder 114-100
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Russell Westbrook is the midst of a historic season chasing Oscar Robertson and attempting to a average a triple-double for an entire season.

Unfortunately, Oklahoma City isn't reaping any benefits in the win column.

The Thunder fell to a league worst 16-37 after a 114-100 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cleveland controlled the game from the opening tip and a nine point lead after one quarter would be their smallest of the night.

LeBron James led the Cavs with 28 points, Kevin Love had 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Kyrie Irving added 23.

Channing sparked the Cleveland defense off the bench with 4 block and chipped in 13 points on offense hitting three of four 3-point attempts.

Westbrook finished with 34 points and 7 assists, but an uncharecteristic one rebound.

Cleveland finishes their four game road trip with a 3-1 record.

"We would have loved to be 4-0, you know we gave everything we had," James said. "We go home extremely proud of what we did on this road trip."

The Cavaliers signed forward Derrick Williams to a 10-day contract after the Miami Heat recently waived the No. 2 pick in the 2011 draft.

A day after former Knicks star Charles Oakley was forcefully removed from his seats at Madison Square Garden and arrested after an altercation near Knicks owner James Dolan, James said: "Charles Oakley for President." James' comment followed an unusually short media session, and was said after the crowd near his locker had dispersed.

Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

Cavs tie 3-point record, bury Nuggets with barrage
CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers took 51 shots from three-point range Saturday night.

They made nearly half of them.

Cleveland tied an NBA record with 23 three-pointers as they dominated the Denver Nuggets 129-100.

LeBron James led a whole team effort in which 10 Cavs hit from downtown and five players made three long range shots.

James finished 3 of 4 on three's with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists in just 29 minutes.

"It was great to be a part of a record-setting night" James said, as the Cavaliers returned home from a three game road trip.

Kyrie Irving added 23 points and 7 assists, Kevin Love had double 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Derrick Williams has bounced from one losing situation to another during his NBA career.

He's finally stopped in a place worth staying.

Signed to a 10-day contract earlier this week, Williams, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 draft, could latch on for much longer with the NBA champions.

"We hope this is a long-term thing," James said. "Even though he's on a 10-day contract, we believe it's going to be long-term. We hope this is a place that can help him grow and make the next step. He's 25 years old -- it doesn't seem like it because I've been hearing his name for so long. He hasn't even gotten to his prime yet."

The Cavs are Williams' sixth organization and he's hoping he can stick around long enough to help Cleveland defend its title. He's never played on a team with a winning record.

"I wanted to be in a winning environment and get that feeling," said Williams, who scored 6 points in 21 minutes. "I haven't had that feeling since I've been in the NBA. It feels good. It feels like I'm back in college and that's what I wanted."
