Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

Cavs down Rockets 122-115
HOUSTON -- With back-to-back road losses at Detroit and Orlando the Cleveland Cavaliers were in danger of going 0-3 on their road trip.

LeBron James wasn't about to let that happen.

Houston held the lead at halftime, but James controlled the second half on his way to 37 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists in the Cavs 122-115 win over the Rockets.

"We've got some great possibilities and it's a process," said James, "We can never get too high or too low."

Kyrie Irving added 28 points, 9 assists and Kevin Love had a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

The Rockets, who now sit 5th in Western Conference, were led by MVP candidate James Harden's 22 points and 8 assists.

Eric Gordon had 21 points and assists. Gordon has moved into the starting line-up with the addition of Lou Williams who was acquired in trade with the Lakers.

Williams struggled in the game shooting just 3-16 and 1-8 from 3-point range.

"They definitely have a lot of weapons," said Trevor Ariza, who guarded James most of the night. "They're the defending world champs for a reason."

Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

Jackson, Drummond help Detroit topple Cavs again
CLEVELAND -- The Detroit Pistons sit 3 games behind the Boston Celtics for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

Cavaliers fan have their fingers crossed that Detroit doesn't make up the deficit.

Detroit knocked off the Cavs 109-103 giving them their second win over the defending champs in 6 days. The loss is just the third home defeat for the Cavaliers this season.

Pistons guard Reggie Jackson picked up where he left off from his 40 point performance in the previous meeting leading Detroit with 33.

Andre Drummond continued to torment Cleveland in the paint racking up 23 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks including a swat of a Kyrie Irving layup that would have brought the Cavs within 2 in the final minute.

Kyrie Irving led the Cavaliers, who have split the season series with Detroit after taking the first two games, with 29 points.

Lebron James scored 25 with 12 assists and Kevin Love added 23 points, but the Cavs bench combined to score just 10 points.

"We played hard and fought down the stretch and got tired," Tyronn Lue said. "I thought LeBron got tired and Kyrie got tired. What we took advantage of in the first half, we weren't able to get those things in the second half because our guys got tired."

James lamented the fact that Detroit got 10 offensive rebounds to just four by the Cavaliers.

"They did a good job of crashing the glass," he said. "Obviously, if we got some of those we would have given ourselves a better chance to get the win, but we didn't."

Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

Love scores 33 as Cavs beat Jazz 118-105
CLEVELAND -- With all the attention that LeBron James and Kyrie Irving draw, the third member of the Cleveland Cavaliers 'Big 3' can sometimes go overlooked.

Against the Utah Jazz on Thursday night, Love took a starring role.

With the Jazz putting on a 4th quarter run, Cleveland turned to their power forward for an answer.

"I went to Kev and was like, `You got this?' and he said, `Yeah," Irving said.

He certainly did.

Love responded with three consecutive three pointers and finished with 33 points as the Cavs walked away with 118-105 win.

Gordon Hayward paced the Jazz with 30 points, 9 assists and 3 steals for the Jazz.

Utah's record now stands at 35-34 placing them 0.5 game behind the Denver Nuggets for the final playoff spot in the West.

Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

CP3, Clippers hold off Cavs charge
LOS ANGELES -- The Cleveland Cavaliers gave the Los Angeles a tense test at home before the Clippers rose up on defense for what they deemed their biggest win of the season.

Chris Paul had 16 points and 14 assists, as the Clippers beat Cleveland 120-116 on Saturday night, avenging their previous loss to the Cavs this season.

"Coming into this building, they're never going to make many mistakes," said Cavaliers star LeBron James, who had 25 points. Doc definitely puts those guys in the right position every single possession to be successful for their team."

Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 23 points and J.J. Redick added 20.

Kyrie Irving led all scorers with 28 points but shot just 1 of 7 from three point range.

"They did a good job of taking us out of our sets, but we also had some really good looks that didn't go down for us," James said.

"Chris has carried us a lot this year because of his two-way play," Rivers said. "He's working his butt off on Kyrie Irving, who is a great player. That's not easy to do, and he was still aggressive defensively. So, Chris was great at both ends."
