Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

James, Cavs hold off Towns, Wolves, 111-104
MINNEAPOLIS -- LeBron James spent the morning sending a crystal clear message to the Cleveland Cavaliers: things will be just fine as long as James is on the court.

He spent the night backing that up against the Minnesota Timberwolves, as if anyone doubted him in the first place.

James had 31 points, nine assists and eight rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to a 111-104 victory over the Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

Kyrie Irving had 22 points and Kevin Love a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds against the franchise that drafted him.

Karl-Anthony Towns did everything he could to keep the Timberwolves in the game despite playing the entire fourth quarter with 5 fouls.

Towns finished with 35 points, 18 rebounds, and blocked 2 shots, but Andrew Wiggins absence was noticeable.

Wiggins was chosen by the Cavs No. 1 overall three years ago, but that was before James made his surprising return to Cleveland. The Cavs traded Wiggins to Minnesota for Love. Wiggins is currently sidelined with a broken jaw that he suffered in the team matchup on February 1st.

Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

Cavs comeback to beat Pacers 121-118
CLEVELAND -- It appeared like the Indiana Pacers would send the defending champions into the All-Star break on a losing note.

The Cleveland Cavaliers hadn't held the lead all night.

Even with the score tied a 118 it seemed like the Pacers where still in control.

It all changed in a matter of seconds, 21 scones on the clock LeBron James stripped Paul George on defense and on the ensuing possession James found a wide open J.R. Smith for a corner three that proved to be the game winner after C.J. Miles clanged a 3 at the buzzer.

James finished with 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, Kyrie Irving added 25 and Kevin Love had another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

"This is the way we wanted to play coming into February and the guys are excellent so far in this month," James said. "It sucks because we have a great rhythm right now and you hate to have the break. But the break is going to be good for everybody. It gives guys an opportunity -- if they have some nicks and bruises and things of that nature. Just get away and decompress for a little bit, but we've been playing some good basketball."

And while his teammates will relax over the next few days, James and Irving are headed to New Orleans for Sunday's All-Star game.

At 42-12, and winners of five straight, Cleveland leads the Eastern Conference at the unofficial halfway point, and holds a half game lead over the Golden State Warriors for the best record the league.

Miles scored 17 for Indiana, which lost its third straight. Pacers All-Star Paul George scored 16.

Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

All-Star Weekend Wrap-up
New Orleans -- The 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend festivities took place in the New Orleans Louisiana this year.

As usual the events were tipped off Friday night with a game between teams of the leagues up and coming players.

Karl-Anthony Towns won the game MVP leading his team of "Stars" to a 82-75 win over the "Elites."

Towns scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, Kristaps Porzingis added 16 for the "Stars."

Nikola Jokic led all players with 23 points for the "Elites" and Joel Embiid added 22.

The following night kicked off with the three-point contest featuring Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, C.J. McCollum, James Harden, Damian Lillard, and Bradley Beal.

Curry, Durant, and McCollum advanced to the finals with McCollum pulling off the upset and taking the crown over the pair of Warriors.

Wrapping up the night was the dunk contest featuring a highly anticipated rematch between 2 time champion Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon, with many feeling Gordon should have won last years contest.

However, LaVine reasserted his command taking home a record third straight title.

As for the All-Star game itself, things were rather lackluster to say the least.

With the Western Conference having a clear size advantage and 5 of the 6 three point contest participants the outcome was never really in doubt with the West taking an easy 169-148 win.

Anthony Davis took home MVP honors in front of his home crowd with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Stephen Curry led all scorers with 29 points.

Russell Westbrook, DeMarcus Cousins and Karl-Anthony Towns all had double-doubles.

Paul George filled in the East starting lineup after LeBron James decided to sit-out the game after tweaking an ankle against George and the Pacers on Wednesday. George led the East with 22 points. Carmelo Anthony took James spot on the roster.

Re: Welcome to the Land - NBA 2k17 Cleveland Cavaliers Association

Irving, James lead Cavaliers past Knicks 114-101
CLEVELAND -- Unable to secure a shooting guard at the trade-deadline the New York Knicks signed free-agent veteran Kevin Martin in hopes of replacing Courtney Lee, who is out for the season with a knee injury.

They also had Joakim Noah back in the lineup and rested coming off the All-Star break.

In the end neither could help New York get past the Cleveland Cavaliers as they lost for the third time this season to the defending champs 114-100.

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving carried the Cavs. Irving scored 25 and had 10 assists and James had 24 with 12 helpers and 3 steals.

Tristan Thompson made it a trio of Cavs with double-doubles by scoring 10 points an grabbing 12 rebounds.

James took the All-Star game off and looked rested in his return.

"The rest paid dividends for us," James said. "A couple of possessions guys got a little tired because we hadn't played in a week, but it was a good start for us after the break."

Carmelo Anthony, who replaced James on the Eastern Conference team, led the game with 31 points. Derrick Rose added 16 points and Matin had 13 in his Knicks debut.

Former Knicks forward Charles Oakley watched his former team in his hometown. Oakley sat next to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert in a front row seat adjacent to Cleveland's bench.

Oakley attended his first Knicks game since being arrested after getting into an altercation with security guards at Madison Square Garden earlier this month.

"It's always great to see him," James said. "He's like an uncle of mine."
