PBF is a bigger fighter, better defensive fighter, and a better counter puncher. While Pac leave himself open for counter punches because he throw those arcing punches.

True, but unless floyd wants to be in a shell ala Clottey, he's going to have to let his hands go, and he can get caught ala Mosley.

Pac has a jab, a left straight, a right hook, a left hook, and can ko dudes with his uppercuts as well. He has the whole arsenal, his defense seems lacking because he gets caught... but thats only a side effect to his aggressive nature.
His quickness allows him to get in hit and not get caught.

Its gonna be a good fight. Make it happen capt'ns.

Plus he can and will throw all of those punches effectively at some rather absurd angles while moving in, out and laterally. To me this is the x-factor that somewhat negates the defensive/counter-punching tendencies of Mayweather. Not to mention Pac has speed, KO power and his stamina is insane.

Mayweather (not PBF) has used all of those attributes against inferior opponents up to this point (excluding the Mosley fight). The likes of Carlos Baldomir, Ricky Hatton, Arturo Gatti, etc... are all inferior tomato cans who posed zero threat to a coward like Mayweather. I do the same thing to my 2 year old son every day; let them swing at me and then I move and counter punch him...it's really not that hard when you're fighting someone with little skill.

When Manny starts throwing blows, the coward (Mayweather) ain't going to be able to just sit back and counter punch. Mosley looked terrible in his fight against Mayweather, yet even he almost had Floyd put away in the second round because Floyd has NO chin. Manny will not perform the way Mosley did.....you can count on that.

Excellent points.

I hate Mayweather, and I believe he ducks fighters, but at the same time, I think he's immensely skilled.
Illustrator76, I get what you're saying. But in some ways, Mayweather is like a man among boys. Mosley might not be as good as he once was, but I still believe he could beat 95% of the people in his class range.

And like you said Kanobi, will Pac's ability to throw a variety of punches, at a large volume and from varying angles negate Mayweather's incredible defensive and counter-punching skills?

Both guys are blazing fast. One is ultra conservative and defensive, the other an offensive Tasmanian devil. Which will prevail.
I really hope we find out soon.

If Mayweather wins, I'll forever give him credit and trumpet him as the best fighter of his generation.

I disagree that Mayweather is man at all let alone a man among boys. I agree that Mayweather has all the talent in the world, but to say that he is a man among boys is a stretch. I was one of the people that said the exact same things about Roy Jones Jr. ducking people and not being all that, and I was right. EVERYONE worshiped the ground that Roy Jones Jr. walked on because he was dominating people; but who couldn't dominate an freakin' garbage man from Australia that took a fight on 3 days notice?

Roy Jones Jr. eventually proved my comments to be spot on by getting annihilated when he actually fought people who could walk and chew gum at the same time. There is no way that Roy Jones Jr. can be considered one of the greatest fighters ever, and I think if Floyd ever mans up and fights some real guys (Cotto, Berto, Williams (if he comes down in weight), Pacquiao, even Margarito) then he may be exposed the same way. I do give Floyd credit for stepping up and fighting Mosley, but one fight isn't enough to win me over.

Bad comparison, while RJJ.. was an atheletic freak.. his techniques wasnt there..When his athleticism faded his confidence.. faded.. and his old habits became bad habits..

Mayweather has the athleticism and the boxing fundamentals that RJJ didnt have

Not really a bad comparison at all. While Mayweather is a beter boxer, Roy Jones wasn't terrible, Also, his athleticism had very little to do with his fading, it was the lack of garbage men to fight that did Roy in.
