He actually becomes somewhat interesting if he continues to mix it up with the 115 guys. Who wouldn't want to see him fight Inoue? On the other hand who thinks he could beat Inoue, which was a given one year ago?
do you think chocolatito asked for a rematch too quickly? does rungvisai just have his number? or maybe the passing of chocolatito's trainer is still affecting him?

The passage of time has affected Chocolatito more than anything. Little guys usually don't fare well past 30 or with big jumps in weight, both of which Gonzalez have experienced.

He's past his prime as an elite pound-for-pound fighter. Sor Rungvisai proved that.

Chocolatito was just one fight into a jump from 112 to 115 when he faced Rungvisai the first time. That's probably comparable to a move from 140 to 147 which is a pretty big factor. Add PK's point about past the 30 age barrier and maybe throw in your point about Rungvisai having his number too. But Rungvisai has had a lot of numbers-44-4-1 with 40 KOs?? Give Chocolatito credit for going up in weight to face this guy and probably winning the first fight.

maybe he should have retired at 46-0 and been satisfied with remaining the flyweight king....or maybe fought a top 10 super flyweight contender (to see how he fares) before taking on rungvisai.

Re: Boxing Off-Topic

I'm obviously getting GGG-Canelo but is it just me or is the undercard lacking? At least Oscar's cousin gets a good challenge. (Randy Caballero 24-0, 14 KOs).

Diego De La Hoya (No. 6) vs. Randy Caballero
12 rounds – junior featherweights

Joseph Diaz (No. 7) vs Jorge Lara (No. 10)
12 rounds – featherweights

Claudio Marrero vs. Jesus Rojas
12 rounds – featherweights

Five of the six fighters on the undercard are unbeaten. While it lacks a marquee co-feature, this undercard boasts talent.

That's a serious lacking for a fight of this magnitude and $80 price tag.
