Re: NFL Head Coach 09 Dynasty

Army's Head Coach, General Sanders and resigned his position and let it be known that he will be making the jump to the NFL.

General Sanders is believed to be in contact with the Dolphins, Cardinals, Ravens, Jets, and Falcons. The only team considering a coaching change not interested in Sanders is the Raiders. When asked about this, owner Al Davis had this to say, "Why would I want that guy. He runs the ball, and then he runs the ball again. This isn't the 30's. You're not going to win football games, pounding it on the ground for 3 yards a carry. I want a guy who is going to bring us back to our glory days of going deep, early and often."

Insiders think General Sanders is leaning toward New York or Baltimore.

Re: NFL Head Coach 09 Dynasty

Wildcard Games

Patriots (10-6) @ Bills (12-4)
The Bills controlled this one start to finish. HB Marshawn Lynch scored first with a dive into the endzone. New England responded with a K S. Gotkowski 26yd FG, after the Buffalo defense stopped them at the 9yd line. Buffalo marched down the field and added another TD when QB Trent Edwards found WR Lee Evans wide open in the endzone. Bills have an 11pt lead at halftime. Tom Brady and the Patriots got their butts chewed in the locker room and finally look like they're ready to play. HB L. Maroney cuts the lead by 7 with a dive into the endzone. Buffalo is determined and adds two more scores, a TE R. Royal run, and a catch by WR R. Parrish. Patriots trail by 18 in the 4th. Tom Brady hasn't given up yet though, two quick scores: WR W. Futch catch, and WR I. Pepper catch, bring the Patriots within 3. Pats can't get the onside. Bills run out the clock. Bills 28 Patriots 25

Cowboys (10-6) @ Buccaneers (10-6)
The Cowboys come out strong but then fizzle. Dallas K. N. Folk gets the Cowboys on the board first with a 45yd FG. The Buccaneers responds with a 2yd TD run by HB Ernest Graham. QB Tony Romo adds 2 scores in the 2nd quarter (WR T. Owens 12yd catch, TE Jason Witten 9yd catch) to give the Cowboys a 10pt lead at the half. Tampa Bay's defense comes out on fire in the second half, and shuts the Cowboys out. QB Chad Pennington and HB Ernest Graham do the rest adding 11yd TD pass to WR Maurice Stovall, a 1yd run by HB Ernest Graham, and setting up a 28yd FG by K Matt Bryant. Buccaneers walk away with the win. Cowboys 17 Buccaneers 24.

Jaguars (10-6) @ Steelers (8-8)

This one was back and forth, but the Steelers do just enough to hold on. Jacksonville starts with the ball and scores on their first drive when HB M. Jones-Drew goes in from 8yds out. Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger responds in the 2nd quarter by hitting WR H. Ward on a slant for a 3yd TD. Steelers D forces a stop and after a great punt return, the Jaguars force a 25yd FG by K Jeff Reed. Jaguars get back into this one with a 2yd TD run by backup HB Kenton Keith. QB Ben Roethlisberger ends the half in dramatic fashion when he finds WR Santonio Holmes for a 12yd TD. Steelers lead by 3 at the half. Pittsburgh extends their lead by 3 more when K J. Reed hits a 24yd FG in the bottom of the 3rd. K J. Reed sees more action in the 4th adding another chipshot from 25yds out. The Jaguars rally and add another HB K. Keith TD to narrow the gap to 2pts. Jags stop the Steelers on the next drive, but can't get anything going and turn the ball over on a failed 4th down conversion. QB B. Roethislberger takes a knee to end the game. Jaguars 21 Steelers 23

(10-6) Rams @ Seahawks (10-6)
HB Steven Jackson ran all over the Seahawks, allowing the Rams to control this game from start to finish. HB S. Jackson put the first two scores on the board with TD runs of 4yds and 11yds. Rams QB Marc Bulger then got in on the action by hitting WR D. Simpson on a 13yd In route. Rams lead by 21. The Seahawks finally get into the endzone, when WR D. Branch breaks free and QB Matt Hasselbeck finds him for a 26yd TD reception. The Rams move into scoring position as time dwindles in the 1st half and add a 25yd FG by K J. Brown. Rams 24 Seahawks 7 at the half. Seattle closes the gap with a 44yd FG by K O. Mare and a screen pass from QB M. Hasselbeck to HB Julius Jones that goes for a 26yd Td. Rams retaliate with a TD strike to WR D. Simpson. Rams lead by 14 going into the 4th. Seattle HB J. Jones adds a 2yd TD run to narrow the gap to 7, but K J. Brown brings it back to 10 with a 20yd FG. The Seahawks struggle for the rest of the quarter and that spells the end. Rams 34 Seahawks 24

Re: NFL Head Coach 09 Dynasty

Divisional Games

Steelers (9-8) @ Chiefs (14-2)

The Cinderella Steelers come to Arrowhead to face the Kansas City Chiefs. See game details below.

Rams (11-6) @ Packers (13-3)

Coach of the Year, Mike McCarthy wasn't prepared for this one. The Rams start out strong and never let Green Bay get back into this one. St. Louis HB Steven Jackson scores on a 1yd run in the 1st quarter. Rams K J. Brown adds a FG in the 2nd. The Rams follow this with a 1yd TD run by backup HB A. Pittman. The Packers end the half with a 94yd kickoff return by WR Greg Jennings. Rams 17 Packers 7 at the half. Good defense in the 3rd quarter w ith neither team scoring. Green Bay takes advantage of a St. Louis blitz to get HB K. Watson to the outside, and once he's there no one can stop him, 84yd TD run. Rams lead by 3. QB Marc Bulger finds WR Donnie Avery in the endzone for a 10yd TD to raise the St. Louis lead to 10. The Rams defense does the rest. Rams 24 Packers 14

Bills (13-4) @ Colts (13-3)

The Bills have looked strong all season, but most people are betting on QB Peyton Manning and the Colts. QB P. Manning starts the game off right with a 8yd TD pass to WR A. Gonzalez. The Bills come right back in the 2nd with two HB Marshawn Lynch TD runs of 2yds and 4yds. The Bills lead by 7 at the half. The Bills fall apart in the 2nd half. QB Trent Edwards can't hit the broad side of a barn, and throws 2 costly INTs. The Colts don't look strong, but a steady performance by backup HB D. Gales and (1yd TD run) and QB Peyton Manning (5yd TD pass to WR A. Gonzalez) give them the win. Bills 14 Colts 21.

Buccaneers (11-6) @ Eagles (12-4)

This one was an ugly defensive struggle. The Eagles never make it into the redzone in the 1st quarter, but K D. Akers boots a couple of long FGs (49, 42) to give them a 6pt lead. Tampa QB Chad Pennington gives the Buccaneers the lead when he finds WR I. Douglas for a 13yd TD. Pennington is injured and has to leave the game. Buccaneers lead by 1 at the haf. Philly QB K. Kolb hooks up with HB Brian Westbrook for a 18yd TD. When the Eagles add the 2pt conversion they lead by 7. Backup QB Chris Redman is struggling for the Bucs, but he does get them into FG range. TB K M. Bryant kicks a 40yd FG. Tampa Bay 10 Philadelphia 14 in the 4th with time running out. The Buccaneers fail to recover the onside kick. The Eagles run out the clock. Buccaneers 10 Eagles 14

Re: NFL Head Coach 09 Dynasty

Divisional Week

Pittsburgh Steelers (9-8) @ Kansas City Chiefs (14-2)

The Pittsburgh Steelers came to Arrowhead, and they were massacred! Coach Tomlin and the Steelers felt confident coming in, but that soon changed.

The Chiefs drew first blood when HB Larry Johnson went in from 1yd out. The Steelers responded with an amazing drive, but were stopped at the 1yd line and Coach Tomlin decided to go for 3 rather than the TD. Steelers 3 Chiefs 7.

Chiefs add another score when QB Blake Strickland finds WR Dwayne Bowe for a 41yd TD strike. The Steelers can't do anything and have to punt. Then it looks like the Black and Gold catch a break when CB B. McFadden forces a fumble and goes 46yds for a TD. Wait, there's a flag. Pass interference, Chiefs get the ball back. No TD. Cheifs score on the very next play when WR Dwayne Bowe turns a short pass over the middle into a 56yd TD. Steelers 3 Chiefs 21

Steelers still can't get anything going. The Chiefs continue to roll adding a 17yd TD pass from QB B. Strickland to HB L. Johnson. Then CB Brandon Flowers intercepts QB Ben Roethlisberger and goes 84yds for a TD. Cheifs add another TD when QB Blake Strickland finds a wide open WR Kevin Robinson on a wheel route. The Chiefs finish the 2nd quarter with a Larry Johnson 1yd TD run. The Steelers end the half crying. Steelers 3 Chiefs 49.

The 3rd quarter starts where the 2nd quarter finished with a pair of Chiefs TDs, one to WR Isaiah Darcy and another TD run by HB Larry Johnson. Steelers 3 Chiefs 63. Coach Joslin sends in the 2nd string for the 4th quarter.

HB Larry Johnson adds another run TD, and CB Patrick Surtain ends the game with a 37yd interception return for a TD. Steelers 3 Chiefs 77.

Chiefs head to the AFC Championship Game!

See game details beow.

(12-6) St. Louis Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles (13-4)

Horrible call by Rams Coach Scott Linehan cost them the game. The Rams and Eagles trade TDs in the 1st quarter, with WR D. Avery scoring for the Rams and HB B. Westbrook scoring for the Eagles. Re: NFL Head Coach 09 Dynasty

AFC Championship Game

Indianapolis Colts @ Kansas City Chiefs

The Colts start off hot with QB P. Manning hitting WR A. Gonzalez for a 21yd FG. The Chiefs are struggling and have to punt. The Colts add another score when P H. Smith hits a 45yd FG (the Colts don't have a kicker! They've been using their punter for kickoffs, FGs, PATs and punts all season.) Colts 10 Chiefs 0

The Chiefs finally get into this one with a 71yd run by HB Larry Johnson. Colts lead by 3.

Colts backup RB K. Kasom dives in to increase the Colts lead to 10 at the half.

HB Larry Johnson gets his second TD of the game. Colts 17 Chiefs 14.

A costy QB Blake Strickland pick sets up Indianapolis HB K. Kasom's 2yd TD run. Colts 24 Chiefs 14

HB L. Johnson fumbles at the goal line giving the ball back to the Colts. The Colts take advantage adding a 34yd FG by P. Hunter Smith. Colts 27 Chiefs 17.

With WR D. Bowe and WR K. Robinson knocked out of the game with injuries, it's upto seldom used WR Kevin Curtis. Curtis doesn't disappoint when he catches a 30yd strike from QB Blake Strickland. Colts 27 Chiefs 21.

CB Patrick Surtain comes up big with an INT. Chiefs turn it into points when QB B. Strickland finds WR J. Pearson (his first catch of the season) for a 17yd TD. Serna's kick gives the Chiefs the lead. Colts 27 Chiefs 28

Less than 2 minutes remaining and the Colts have the ball. With brutal efficiency QB Peyton Manning moves his team down the field. In a matter of 5 plays he has them on the 1yd line. 3rd string HB D. Gales takes it in, and the Colts add the 2pt conversion. Colts 35 Chiefs 28. 38 seconds on the clock.

The Chiefs are driving, QB B. Strickland sees HB L. Johnson is open on the wheel route, he hits him in stride. HB L. Johnson stiffarms the safety to the ground and there is no one in front of him. Out of nowhere here comes CB Tim Jennings, he dives at HB Johnson, and knocks the ball free. Fumble! CB Jennings recovers the ball and this one is over.

Colts 35 Chiefs 28

The Colts are going to the Super Bowl, the Chiefs are going home.
