Re: A Bears Dynasty

Game 7- Bears 49, Vikings 21

The Vikings really played a good game for 3 quarters, but things really went together for us in the 4th. A kickoff returned for a TD and a interception by Urlacher returned for a TD really helped us out. We did lose 2 starters to our offensive line to injury, so we'll have to see how that affects things in the future. On the plus side, I managed to re-sign ROLB Lance Briggs.

Injuries- RT John Tait-triceps strain, 3-7 weeks, RG Roy Schuening 1-4 weeks.

Re-signings-Re-signed ROLB Lance Briggs to 6 years, 48.4 million deal, 22 million signing bonus. It'll be my big financial splash for the year.

Coach upgrades- HC- Int Dev LB 2, STC- Performance 3, LBC-Lrn Dev LB 3, DLC- Phys Dev DL 3, GM- Rookie Scouting WR2.

Re: A Bears Dynasty

Game 8- Bears 37, Lions 17

We beat the Lions again, but I could see their playbook beating us a couple years down the road. There was 1 deep pass play where the Lion caught the ball and outmaneuvered Tillman to the end zone. I really wish I could steal some plays from them, but I kept getting their defense plays.

Re: A Bears Dynasty

Mid-season Review from Coach Smith

" We really have greatly outperformed our expectations. I felt coming into the season we would be satisfied with a winning season and possibly a wild card berth. The team is really performing on all cylinders right now though. Jackson has given us a running game(although we won't be able to re-sign him), the defense has done a good job of causing turnovers, and Woodson is really coming along.

"We were really glad we could re-sign Briggs. The upcoming draft seems weak at ROLB, so it was good we could get it done. I don't like giving out large signing bonuses, but I felt it would be better than giving out incentives. It's a good start, but we still have to make the playoffs.

2008 Season-Game 9- Bears 19, Titans 16

This game made a good case for the Titans re-signing Rob Bironas. I think you see a different result if he's on the roster for the Titans. Mare missed 2 field goals for the Titans, and Gould made 4 out of 5-it really was the difference in the game.

Coach upgrades-HC-Lrn Dev OL2, OC-Team Chemistry 2, DC-Playcall 3, WRC-Lrn Dev TE 3.

Re: A Bears Dynasty

2008 Season-Game 10-Bears 25, Packers 12

Not a bad game by the Packers-we just did a better job of getting in the end zone. Ryan Grant did get over 100 yds on the ground, but to no result. Calais Campbell hit a milestone with his 15th sack on the season.

Coach upgrade-HC-Lrn Dev QB 2.

2008 Season-Game 11-Bears 29, Rams 23

I had this one pretty much until a late surge by the Rams- 2 seperate occasions my secondary got beat deep and the Rams went all the way for a touchdown. The two missed field goals by the Rams were also a factor.

Coach upgrades-HC-Lrn Dev WR 2.

Re: A Bears Dynasty

2008 Season-Game 12- Bears 37, Vikings 28

Once again, we had a fairly comfortable lead and almost gave it away. We were up 34-7 in the third quarter when almost everything seemed to go wrong-penalties, turnovers, blown coverages everything. There was 1 play where Tavaris threw a pass to a wide receiver-and no one was covering him.

I do want to give credit to Tavaris Jackson-he played a heck of a game in the 2nd Half. If he had played that way the entire game, we would have lost. As it is, we clinched a playoff spot after the game.

Notes from Coach Smith-"We've got a lot of be thankful for-a winning season, a divison title, and a playoff spot. I'm not liking the way we've been playing though lately, even if we've been lucky to win the games so far"

Coach upgrades-HC- Lrn Dev RB 2, RBC-Lrn Dev RB 4, LBC-Phys Dev LB3, DBC- Lrn Dev DB 4.

Re: A Bears Dynasty

2008 Season-Game 13- Bears 31, Jaguars 28

This was the first game I can remember that was decided by the Replay Assistant. The game was tied 28-28 and I was on the Jaguars 15. There was wind and snow and it was blowing pretty hard. I made the decision to do one more run with half a minute left. Carl Stewart fumbled the ball! I prepared to go on defense when the decision came-the replay assistant overturned the call.My kicker came in and kicked the winning field goal.

I am a bit concerned that the Jaguars passed over 400 yards against my defense. It could have been a lot worse-we picked off two passes in the Jaguars Red Zone.
