2023 Bowl Games Discussion

The 12-team playoff will mitigate the opt-outs somewhat. I guess that's one advantage of going to 12 (I still prefer four).

At this point, just make the first-round games bowl games as well, instead of playing them on campus. The argument against that was that fans aren't likely to travel multiple times, but that seems kind of moot now.

I think some of the transfer portal craziness is due to upperclassmen missing out on NIL when they were coming out of high school, so now they're trying to cash in.

This has to be the least hyped Orange Bowl in history right?

I wonder what the ratings will be. Part of me thinks people are sadistic enough to want to watch this that it will actually do fairly well

I get the feeling that alumni always watch. So I like to think million or so people watch each one of these games. The real numbers are of others are going to watch.

I'm probably wrong about the above. But that's just my feeling.

It looks like the stadium is half empty…and the pregame is trying really hard to “pump” up the game by telling us that the players who are playing are focused and care.
