One of these things is not like the other...

Maryland was 7-5, Auburn was 6-6.

Maryland had a bunch of opt outs. Auburn did not have as many, but they were too had their share.

Georgia was the #1 team in the country all season and the only starter who is not playing today is Brock Bowers.

Stole this from a FSU fan on Reddit

FSU is missing their:

QB: 1,2,4

RB: 1,2,4,5

WR: 1,2

TE: 1,3

DE: 1

LB: 2,3

DT: 1,3,4,5

S: 1

CB: 1,3

Would Georgia have beaten a health FSU team? I believe so. It's pointless to bother analyzing FSU's performance given the circumstances though.

I hope FSU gets creamed by 70, gets out of the ACC and can't get into the SEC or Big10 and just gets screwed.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I think you are right. But man there has to be a better way. It's literally destroying the little product they had with this format.

The 6-6 team that got cooked at home by New Mexico State?

Just like with Mizzou last night, it was a lose-lose for FSU. If they lose, they didn't deserve to be (in the playoff, in the NY6) and if they win, the other team (Georgia, Ohio State) didn't care because they wanted to be in the playoff, had opt-outs, backups, etc.

It's just lazy and predictable.

Auburn was 6-6 this year.

Maryland whooped Auburn because Auburn was bad.

FSU was an Independent from 1951-1991, they should return to their roots and join Notre Dame as an Indy.

Agree. It's a good thought in theory, but in practice, if you're a budding superstar at Western Kentucky or Texas State and have a chance to go get $300k+ at Ole Miss or Oklahoma, you're not going to risk that to play in a "meaningless" bowl game.

Players would just opt out in preparation of transferring out in January, instead of transferring out and be enrolled in a new school before the new year.
