Apparently, Herman was so mad that Ohio State beat Texas for an in-state (Texas) recruit that "Zach Smith just had to go." McMurphy and Herman both deny it. Snook has written 4 books on Ohio State, lol. Even if the allegation sounded remotely credible, the source doesn't seem to be.
Imo this is nothing more than a feeble attempt to give the OSU fanbase something to focus on other than Meyer & co.

My sister-in-law is a huge Penn State fan, and I've never heard her mention Notre Dame. Pitt and Ohio State are the biggest rivals for her.

I would think Cal is still Stanford's biggest rival and FSU is Miami's.

Similarly, I think Stanford thinks of California, and Oregon and maybe USC are in that tier. I certainly really enjoyed beating them twice last year. I think Miami's biggest rival is FSU, but I imagine there's a lot of Catholics vs Convicts hate still.

Re: College Football Off Topic

I feel like rivals place different terms of importance.

Texas A&M's biggest rival was Texas, but Texas hated Oklahoma more than A&M.

Michigan State's most heated rivalry is Michigan, but the Wolverines have Ohio State.

In Miami's case, I feel like their biggest rival is Florida State, but Florida State puts more emphasis on Florida.

At least that's how I've always seen it.

Thought this was pretty cool. #28 is even a decent Jay-Z impersonator...

Good for these players with all the scrutiny on their coaching staff (which the players had absolutely nothing to do with). Even if they do wear the wrong color jerseys.

Re: College Football Off Topic

uf is #1 on the rivalry list, the rivalry just isn't as heated as it used to be since they refuse to play Miami regularly. FSU is #2. Notre Dame is probably #3. VT still isn't even a rivalry to a lot of fans and it's one I can see being argued both ways. I really don't see them as anything more than a minor rival, but nothing close to even Notre Dame.

Like fatleg said, with a lot of younger Canes fans FSU is 1 on the list above uf, for most older fans uf is on the list. The younger fans haven't had the opportunity to see too many Miami-uf games because of uf's avoidance of the series. At least we get to see the matchup next year.
